BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Robert Englund, John Landis And May More Attending @SlvrScreamFest

ROBERT ENGLUND CONFIRMED FOR FAMOUS MONSTERS’ SILVER SCREAM FESTIVAL Horror icon Robert Englund — Freddy Krueger himself — has confirmed his appearance at Famous Monsters’ Silver Scream Festival, joining his NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET co-star Heather Langenkamp for a tribute to their late director Wes Craven (the ELM STREET series, SCREAM, THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT). With more than 150 credits, Englund played the scarred slasher Freddy Krueger in all of the original ELM STREET films and has appeared in other genre classics such as URBAN LEGEND, WISHMASTER, HATCHET, and THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, in addition to the 1980s Sci-Fi television series V. He’s twice been nominated for the Saturn Awards for Best Supporting Actor by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Films, and in 2001 was bestowed the Academy’s Life Career Award. His memoir, HOLLYWOOD MONSTER: A WALK DOWN ELM STREET WITH THE MAN OF YOUR DREAMS, was published in 2009. The Silver Scream Film & Comic Fe...

TV Review: Scream "Pilot"

TV adaptation is dead on arrival. Review by Brandon Wolfe Scream becoming a TV show at this point in the game is very odd, at least on MTV. Sure, we live in a culture that specializes in grave-robbing the past, unearthing musty old franchises to cash in on whatever residual name recognition can be extracted from their withering bones. But Scream is a property that has little, if any, familiarity to MTV’s tween target audience, many of whom (like some members of this show’s cast) were yet to be born when ol’ Ghostface went on his first rampage. If Scream were to be dusted off for a cinematic reboot, it would be difficult to feign surprise (other than that there remained any interest in something like that so soon after 2011’s Scream 4 came and went unnoticed), but a television series served up to an audience who wouldn’t know Gale Weathers if she backed over them with her news van seems peculiar. Perhaps MTV felt emboldened from successfully repackaging the even mustier Teen Wolf...

Scream TV Show Coming To MTV

MTV is hoping for its next scripted hit in Scream. Nearly a year after THR reported that the cable network was eyeing a television adaptation of the Kevin Williamson -created franchise, MTV is moving forward with an official pilot order, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Produced with Dimension Films, MTV is currently in search of writers for the one-hour project while Scream director Wes Craven is in discussions to direct the pilot. Should Scream receive a series order, it would be slated for a summer 2014 launch and would join current scripted offerings Teen Wolf (also adapted from a film franchise) and Awkward. Ghostface Might Stalk MTV Soon

Ghostface is taking his reign of terror to the small screen. MTV is developing a weekly series based on the Scream film franchise , sources confirm to TVLine exclusively. Former MTV execs Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley, who are shepherding the project under their DiGa production shingle, are on the hunt for a writer to pen the pilot. It’s unclear what role, if any, Scream auteurs Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven will have in the potential series. The four Scream flicks have brought in $500 million globally, although the most recent pic — last year’s Scream 4 — grossed a paltry $40 million domestically. Reality-obsessed MTV has found success on the scripted side with hits Teen Wolf and Awkward. Please Leave A Comment- Source- TVLine

Kevin Williamson Out Of Scream 4

Kevin Williamson Out Of Scream 4 All is not well in Woodsboro. As we previously reported, significant script changes have created some tension on the set of " Scream 4 ." Lauren Graham 's role was so reduced that she dropped out of the project, and now it appears that Hayden Panetierre's part has changed as well... and who's at fault may surprise you. We have learned that the slasher flick's script is now in the hands of Ehren Kruger , not the creator of the franchise, Kevin Williamson . In fact, word is that Williamson's involvement with the project has come to an end entirely -- meaning "Scream 5" is a no-go at this time. Kruger's writing resume includes "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" and "The Ring," and more significantly, "Scream 3." While the first two "Scream" movies, penned by Williamson, were adored by fans and critics alike, "Scream 3" was... well, not. Hayden Panett...

Hayden Panettiere Confirmed For Scream 4

Hayden Panettiere Confirmed For Scream 4 Dimension Films has confirmed that Hayden Panettiere ("Heroes") and Rory Culkin will star in Scream 4 as well. They join original "Scream" cast members Neve Campbell, David Arquette, and Courteney Cox Arquette, as well as newcomer to the franchise, Emma Roberts. To be directed by Wes Craven from a Kevin Williamson script, the anticipated follow-up starts shooting in June for a release in theaters on April 15, 2011. Please Leave A Comment- Source- Comingsoon

Ashley Greene And Hayden Panettiere Offered Roles In Scream 4

Ashley Greene And Hayden Panettiere Offered Roles In Scream 4 Lake Bell is in negotiations to join the franchise, and offers are out to “Twilight” actress Ashley Greene, “Heroes” star Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin (“Twelve”) for key starring roles. “Scream 4” reunites Wes Craven with Kevin Williamson, who kicked off a horror- movie revival with his “Scream” script in 1996. The story brings back original cast members Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox, though the new flick is seen as a passing of the baton to a new generation of slasher victims, with Williamson already under contract to write a fifth installment. If deals are concluded, Greene would play Campbell’s cousin Jill, essentially the heroine of the movie, and Panettiere would play her best friend, a nerdy film geek. Culkin would play a potential love interest for Jill. Bell is negotiating to play a police officer who knew Sidney (Campbell) from high school. Casting is proceeding slowly because Crave...

Scream 4 Wes Craven On Board & To Begin Filming in May

Scream 4 Wes Craven On Board & To Begin Filming in May I am a huge fan of the Scream franchise, when they came out they were a fresh of breath air to horror films and with news that Scream 4 will begin shooting in May is only good news. Craven recently finished “My Soul to Take,” which is scheduled for release sometime this year. And in May, he starts on “Scream 4.” Wes craven talked to the LA Times about film making recently: My goal is to die in my 90s on the set, say, ‘That’s a wrap,’ after the last shot, fall over dead and have the grips go out and raise a beer to me. This means that Wes in on board for the next film, which can only make it a good thing. And it looks like the original cast of Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette are on board and so is original Scream trilogy writer Kevin Williamson. Please Leave A Comment- Source- LATimes

Neve Cambell The Next SCREAM Queen?

Neve Cambell The Next SCREAM Queen? So you don’t think you are in any danger of becoming the next Jamie Lee Curtis of the shock-horror world? Being the next Jamie would be fine! (laughs) In fact, we start shooting Scream 4 in mid-April. I’m so happy that those of us still “alive” from 1, 2 and 3 like David (Arquette) and Courtney (Cox) have already signed up to take part. Did you all stay in touch after the trilogy had wrapped? Oh, yes. Completely. I haven’t spoken to them in a while. I’m sure it took a while to convince them to take part [in the picture], especially because they’re now a very happy family ,and of course, it was a long journey for them. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun, and a lot like going back to summer camp. What else can you tell us about Scream 4? I’m pretty sure at this stage that Wes [Craven] is back on board to direct and Kevin [Willamson] is definitely writing it...so it is going to be great. So you haven’t been sent a script yet, then? No. Not yet. They...
