For professional boxing, of the 44 boxers to hold a major world championship in 1991 (WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO)...

RIP Randy "Macho Man" Savage

TMZ spoke with Randy's brother, Lanny Poffo, who tells us the wrestling legend suffered a heart attack while he was behind the wheel around 9:25 AM ... and lost control of his vehicle. Earlier this month, Savage celebrated his 1-year anniversary with his new wife Lynn. Savage was 58. Macho Man began wrestling in the WWF in 1985 and became a superstar with his trademark catchphrase "Ooooooh Yeaahhhhh." Savage was so popular, he became the spokesperson for Slim Jim in the mid '90s ... and became virtually synonymous with the brand. UPDATE : Florida Highway Patrol tells TMZ ... Savage was driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler when he veered across a concrete median ... through oncoming traffic ... and "collided head-on with a tree." Savage was transported to Largo Medical center, where he died from his injuries. Savage's wife was a passenger in the vehicle during the collision -- but survived with "minor injuries." She was transported to a...

2010 Best Wrestling Moments

Wrestling Just Ain't The Same As 2011 quickly approaches, it's time to reflect on the 10 biggest pro wrestling stories of 2010. 1. Shawn Michaels retires : His body battered after 26 years inside the ring, Michaels decided to call it a career. But before leaving World Wrestling Entertainment, the 45-year-old Michaels turned in one final performance worth remembering: a fabulous headline bout last April against The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 26. Unlike Ric Flair, another grappling legend who resurfaced in 2010, Michaels actually seems committed to staying out of action. Michaels could return as a guest referee for Wrestlemania 27 provided The Undertaker is able to wrestle following recent rotator cuff surgery. Read more after Jump.. 2. The short-lived Monday night " war ": So much for TNA Wrestling recapturing the magic of the mid-1990s, when World Championship Wrestling and WWE battled for television ratings supremacy. After a January special drew surprisi...

UFC's Brock Lesnar In For A Fight

UFC's Brock Lesnar In For A Fight And It's Not In The Octagon This lets you know that no one is invisible. Even the toughest guys in the world. My best goes out To Brock and wish him a speedy recovery.I for one want to see him fight again. His life was now about family, training and humble hard work. It was the antithesis of his days making millions in the cutthroat, 300-days-on-the-road, close-down-the-nightclubs-fast-lane of the WWE. That was an existence he grew to detest, so much so that five years ago he walked away from a multi-million dollar contract with no job. Then an interesting thing happened. By moving to real fighting, he found the real Brock Lesnar. “This is who I am,” he said. “I’m a fighter.” Now Lesnar is in for the biggest fight of his life; dealing with a serious illness – at this point just described as “bacterial infection in his intestinal tract.” He had “minor surgery” in Bismarck, N.D. Tuesday, according to UFC president Dana White. “Not 100 (percen...

Is The WWE The New Talk Show Circuit?

Is The WWE The New Talk Show Circuit? Hollywood is trying something new and it's working.I like the Idea of Hollywood adding to wrestling and giving it a like spice to the shows, also adds a flare to the WWE that has been lacking in years. WWE has been lacking the superstar power with Personality that once ruled the show " The Rock , Stone Cold and Hulk Hogan " And I think that this will be bring back the Old School audience like myself that gave up on the WWE years ago. Celebrities and their handlers may have found an unusual alternative to the traditional talkshow circuit when promoting projects: a wrestling ring. For the past two months, World Wrestling Entertainment has essentially handed over its "Monday Night Raw" show on USA Network to guest hosts, who arrange matches and interact with the WWE's wrestlers while touting their new movies, TV shows, books and other fare. Jeremy Piven recently stepped into the ring to promote his laffer "The Goods:...
