Could the ultimate collector’s edition get any better? RAMA sure thinks so. SandwichJohn's Top Ten Films Of 2010

Let's Agree To Disagree With the end of 2010 right around the corner, SandwichJohn thought why not come out with my first Top Ten list for the Films of 2010 . Now remember I haven't seen all the films that came out this year or most of the new releases. I have a family and a real life other than the site. So this is my Top Ten list. I'm for sure there are a few films you will disagree on and I haven't seen The Fighter, Black Swan or even True Grit , so they are not on my list. It makes life funner to stir shit up sometimes. With out further ado here is my list and enjoy the trailers. 10.  Knight & Day I know I am a Tom Cruise Homer, but I actually really enjoyed this movie. Knight and Day follows the adventures of Roy Miller (Tom Cruise), a spy on the run, and June Havens (Cameron Diaz), a car restorer. We see Miller watching Havens, and he bumps into her a couple of times as they go through security at Wichita Airport. Havens is making her way back hom...

Social Network Still #1 At The Box Office

Social Network Still #1 At The Box Office The enormous drawing power of Katherine Heigl, Josh Duhamel and a crapping baby couldn’t best the seething cauldron of ambition and computer programming at the core of The Social Network , as David Fincher’s latest edged out a win to top the US box office charts for a second week in a row with $15.5 million across the weekend. The Duhamel/Heigl comedy Life as We Know It still managed to survive some very mixed reviews to take second place, scoring $14.6 million. That meant Disney’s true-life horse drama Secretariat had to make do with third place, though we doubt it’ll be off to the glue factory just yet, with a decent if unspectacular $12.6 million. Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole saw its wings clipped very slightly, slipping down from second to fourth, but it still added $7 million to its running total, which now stands at $39.4 million. The top five was rounded out by the week’s worst reviewed film, as Wes Craven’s My ...

"The Social Network" Tops The Box Office

"The Social Network" Tops The Box Office A curious box-office creature, Sony's " The Social Network " appears more tortoise than hare. The David Fincher-helmed drama about the creation of Facebook posted an estimated $23 million to top the domestic box office during the weekend. Yet the "Social" launch fell in the lower end of projections, despite showing broad demographic bandwidth. Prerelease interest in the PG-13 pic was keenest among younger males, even though dramas tend to play older. But as things turned out, opening audiences for "Social" were comprised 53% of females, with 55% of patrons aged 25 or older. The older-skewing profile could be good news for the film's longer-term prospects. Such pics often show sturdy legs, and dramas also tend to stretch grosses over a longer play period. "It's playing very broadly, and this is a terrific start," Sony distribution president Rory Bruer said. "This is a mov...

"The Town" Movie Review By: Windy City Gal

"The Town" Movie Review By: Windy City Gal / @rosenfie " The Town ", directed and co-written by Ben Affleck , is a film based on the novel " Prince of Thieves ." Starring Affleck, Jeremey Renner ("The Hurt Locker"), Slaine ("Gone Baby Gone") and Owen Burke as a group of bank robbers, "The Town" takes place in and around Boston, and follows the complications that arise when Affleck's character, Doug MacRay, falls for one of his hostages, Claire ( Rebecca Hall ). Deciding he wants to follow a different path than his life-imprisoned father, MacRay tries to leave his gang of thieves, only to be coerced into one last job, lest his girlfriend/former hostage be harmed. The last job, however, is no standard bank job. The foursome must steal the cash load from Fenway Park after a blockbuster night. What ensues is an all out gun fight between four smart crooks, the entire Boston Police Department and a slew of FBI agents....

The Town Robs The Box Office This Weekend

The Town Robs The Box Office This Weekend Older moviegoers rallied to fall's first star-driven movie drama, as Warner Bros.' Ben Affleck -helmed heist thriller " The Town " copped $23.8 million in U.S. and Canadian coin for a surprise No. 1 bow. "Town" stars Affleck, Jon Hamm of TV's "Mad Men" fame and Jeremy Renner, a hot casting commodity since last year's "The Hurt Locker." The trio stumped tirelessly to promote the Boston-set pic, which was produced for under $35 million and was 50% co-financed by Legendary Pictures. Affleck marked a new helming high by topping his $5.5 million debut with 2007's " Gone Baby Gone ." But the bow by "Town" -- the first pic Affleck both directed and toplined -- was never going to approach his personal best as an actor, a $59.1 million opening with 2001's "Pearl Harbor." The chart-topping performance by "Town" -- which also marked a record Sept...
