BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Amy Adams Is In A Dark Places

Amy Adams usually likes to mix up lighter material (such as The Muppets ) with more dramatic work ( The Fighter ). She’ll definitely be headed down the latter route if she signs on to Dark Places . Gilles Paquet-Brenner is attached to direct his script, which itself is adapted from Gillian Flynn’s book. The story digs deep into repressed memory and how events can be altered by the passage of time. Adams will play a young woman whose family was murdered when she was seven. Back in the day, she pointed to her brother as the culprit, testifying against him in court. Now, 25 years later, a group obsessed with notorious crimes confronts her with some searching questions about what actually happened that day. Could the truth lie somewhere in between? We’re guessing yes, otherwise this will be a very short thriller. Adams is in talks to star right now, and there is no start date listed for the indie pic. She’s just finished working on baseball drama Trouble With The Curve alongside Cl...

The Fighter Movie Review By: Sandwichjohn

The Fighter Movie Review By: Sandwichjohn Let's start with how Amazing this film was, I was expecting great things from this movie but the performance by Christian Bale as Dickie Eklund was Oscar worthy for sure. This guys just seems to amaze me with his acting skills and how serious he takes his craft. Mark Wahlberg did a great job portraying "Irish" Micky Ward in the film. If you want to see a real life " Rocky " film then this one is for you. To me The Fighter rivals any Rocky films out there. And being based on the real life story of Ward even make it more interesting. All the issues he went threw to live this real life Cinderella story. There were a few spots in the film I had trouble with but nothing that would deter me from going to watch it again. Yes the film is based on a boxer and if your a boxing fan your going to love this film the action is great but what really carries this film is the acting and story. And yes this movie is also for peo...

Tron: Legacy Box Office Winner

Tron: Legacy Wins Box Office ' Yogi Bear ' debuts at No. 2 as awards frontrunners ' Fighter ' and ' Swan ' also impress, but all-star ' How Do You Know ' falters at No. 8. Disney's 3D Tron: Legacy sped to the top of the domestic box office in opening to $43.6 million from 3,451 theaters, but the weekend was soft overall and studio titles will need strong holiday biz to come out ahead. Read my review of the film Here . Overseas, Tron rolled out in about half of all territories, grossing $23 million for a worldwide debut of $66.6 million. Imax theaters supplied a record proportion of the gross, including 25% in the U.S. Warner Bros.' 3D family entry Yogi Bear opened to $16.7 million from 3,515 domestically to place No. 2. The CG/live-action hybrid had been expected to open at $20 million. There was no shortage of 3D movies. Coming in No. 3 was 20th Century Fox and Walden Media's The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Tread...

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune On It's Way To The Big Screen

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune On It's Way To The Big Screen David O. Russell has closed a deal to write and direct " Uncharted: Drake's Fortune ," an adaptation of the 2007 PlayStation 3 video game, for Columbia Pictures. Back in May, Russell first flirted with the project, but then moved on to develop a big-screen adaptation of " Pride and Prejudice and Zombies ." But his quest to direct the PS3 game adaptation pulled him back in, leaving "Zombies," for the moment, undead. Despite making his somewhat combative reputation with left-of-center indie films such as " Spanking the Monkey," "Flirting With Disaster" and "I Heart Huckabees," Russell appears to be making a serious move into bigger-budget mainstream movies. His next film, the boxing drama " The Fighter " from Paramount, comes out December. In the mold of epic adventure films like "Tomb Raider" and "Indiana Jones," the ...
