BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Source Code Is Being Developed Into A Television Show

Mark Gordon is bringing his feature film Source Code to the small screen. His Mark Gordon Company, which is locked into an overall deal at ABC Studios, has sold a TV version of the sci-fi thriller to CBS with a meaningful penalty. The news marks ABC Studios' first off-network sale of the development season. Like the film on which it is based, the action/procedural follows three former federal agents who are part of a top-secret program. Each week, they'll use " Source Code " technology to jump into the consciousness of people involved in tragic events. Gordon (Grey's Anatomy, Criminal Minds) will produce the project, with Vendome Pictures' Philippe Rousselet serving as a consulting producer. Steve Maeda (Lie to Me, Lost) is on board to write. This follows a flurry of development season deals for Gordon's company, including a contemporary Miami Vice-style crime drama Untouchable, a Crazy Stupid Love-esque emotional procedural Winging It and an ada...

Flatliners Is the Next Movie To Get Remade

Dam you Hollywood another remake on the way. Ben Ripley, who most recently penned Source Code , has been signed to a development deal with Sony to write a contemporary reimagining of Flatliners , the 1990 Joel Schumacher drama about medical students who dabble too far into near-death experiments that starred then-emerging actors like Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts and William Baldwin, as well as Kevin Bacon . Maybe Sony thinks a redo can launch a few more young careers in the same manner? Laurence Mark is set to produce, likely with Further Films, for Columbia Pictures. David Blackman is overseeing for Laurence Mark Prods. Ripley penned the April release Source Code for Summit Entertainment; the film was a surprise hit and has made $123.3 million worldwide to date. Rio Rules Easter Weekend Box Office

Looks like the combined power of Tyler Perry in a fat suit, the draw of Robert Pattinson and a group of big cats wasn’t enough to challenge animated birds as Rio has continued its box office domination across the world and in the US this Easter weekend. Across the pond, the feathered friends from Fox and Blue Sky earned $26.8 million, bringing the movie’s US total to $81.2 million. Somewhere, we’re pretty certain executives and about to ask what other ideas the Blue Sky team have for Blu and company. Still, Perry won’t be too upset as Madea’s Big Happy Family locked down second place easily with $25.7 million.  Who really watches these movies? Bet he digs the suit and wig out of the closet again soon enough. R.Pattz/Reese Witherspoon romance Water for Elephants , meanwhile, did decent business, taking in $17.5 million for third place. In fourth we find Hop hanging on to a solid level of ticket business, earning $12.4 million after four weeks on release. After that we see ...

Jake Gyllenhaal To Star In "Source Code"

Jake Gyllenhaal To Star In "Source Code" Jake Gyllenhaal is in negotiations to star in sci-fi thriller "Source Code" for Vendome Pictures and the Mark Gordon Co. "Source Code" centers on a soldier who wakes up in the body of an unknown commuter and is forced to live and relive a harrowing train bombing until he can determine who is responsible for it. Project had originally been set up at Universal in early 2007 when the studio bought Ben Ripley's screenplay and attached Topher Grace to star. Universal tapped Shane Abbess to helm last year. Current script includes revises by Billy Ray ("State of Play"). "Source Code" will launch the Vendome slate, according to Rousselet, who said the project exemplifies the types of producers and filmmakers with whom Vendome plans to work. He and co-CEO Fabrice Gianfermi plan to produce a minimum of a dozen films over the next five years. Please Leave A Comment- Source- Variety
