GODZILLA VS. KONG Coming In 2020

Following Legendary’s and Warner Bros. Pictures’ 2014 success with the global reinvention of the Godzilla franchise, the companies have come together to create an epic, new shared cinematic franchise. All-powerful monsters become towering heroes for a new generation, revealing a mythology that brings together Godzilla and Legendary’s King Kong in an ecosystem of other giant super-species, both classic and new. Monarch, the human organization that uncovered Godzilla in the 2014 film, will expand their mission across multiple releases. “Today, I’m excited to reveal that film was only the beginning of an epic new entertainment universe. As a lifelong fan of these characters, I’ve always wanted to see the ultimate showdown, and today we’re pleased to be announcing that and more.” The announcement that the reinvention of monsters continues was made today by Legendary CEO, Thomas Tull, and Kevin Tsujihara, Chairman and CEO, Warner Bros. Kong Film Gets Retilted To Kong: Skull Island tilted

Word that Legendary was working on King Kong tale Skull Island arrived to a slightly muted response when a teaser trailer arrived at this year’s Comic-Con, probably because everyone initially thought it was a first glimpse at Jurassic World . Legendary and its Universal partners are trying to make sure people know what it’s all about in future, announcing that the film is now to be titled Kong: Skull Island . The Kings Of Summer’s Jordan Vogt-Roberts is the man calling the shots for this one, and Universal has also decided to shift the release date back a little, announcing that the freshly-retitled film will now arrive in US cinemas on March 10, 2017, a few months later than the originally planned November 2016 release. The photo below shows us James Franco, Freida Pinto and Andy Serkis filming a scene from the movie. Serkis is playing an ape in the film which is why he's sporting the motion capture suit. This will be the second time he's played a monkey in a movie, the first was for Peter Jackson's King Kong. James Franco is set to play a scientist working on a cure for Alzheimer's by testing on apes. When test subject Caesar suddenly begins to rapidly evolve, the scientist takes him home to remove him from the cruel lab doctors. Synopsis: Rise Of The Apes is an origin story in the truest sense of the term. Set in present day San Francisco, the film is a reality-based cautionary tale, a science fiction/sci...
