Could We See Another #Blade Film?

It’s absolutely clear that there’s still a market for Blade and we could bring it back,” Wesley Snipes told Empire last year. "If we had it we would do it." The people that do have it, of course, are Marvel, and while a new Snipes-starring Blade is no nearer happening, there's a slight update to the saga this morning in the news that Snipes has at least been into the Marvel offices for a chat. "The project is controlled by Marvel and we did have a really productive and a wonderful meeting and we discussed a number of things," Snipes tells Deadline at Comic-Con. "I don’t know where it’s on their schedule at this point, that hasn’t been decided. I guess it’s still up in the air." And if Blade 4 doesn't end up happening, Snipes says some other involvement with the Marvel Cinematic Universe "is a possibility too. I’ve always been a fan of these pieces and adaptations and I’d be nice to be a part of the family again. Clearly there’s an aud...

Wesley Snipes Talks Blade

Wesley Snipes won't let a little thing like prison stop his career. He's still got moves to make, and one of them includes the infamous Daywalker, aka Blade . Even though Snipes is behind bars, he's staying positive and looking toward the future. He claims to have several projects on the horizon and recently opened up about the possibility of doing another Blade . When asked about reprising the role, Snipes said, "It would be nice to fulfill some of the really cool plans we had for Blade but didn't get the chance to go live with. Under the right circumstances, with the right team, yes, I'd do another one. But don't get me wrong, I'm not waiting around for the opportunity. I've got plenty to do, plus an unraveled character in the works who I think will give Blade a helluva run for his money." The actor also spoke about the lack of recognition Blade gets for pushing the comic book genre into the new millennium. He said, "Some peopl...

Wesley Snipes Appeals Tax Convictions

Wesley Snipes Appeals Tax Convictions Wesley Snipes' attorneys asked a federal appeals court Friday to review an "unreasonable" three-year prison sentence for the film star, who was convicted a year ago on federal tax charges. Attorneys for the star of the "Blade" trilogy and other films also argued the actor should have been granted a hearing to decide whether his trial should have been in New York instead of Florida. Prosecutors countered that Snipes, 47, had plenty of time to appeal to move the case to New York in a timely manner before he was convicted of three misdemeanor counts of willful failure to file his income tax returns. Besides, they contended, housing records showed he lived in Florida as well as New York. The three-judge panel of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta issued no immediate decision. Snipes was sentenced in April 2008 in what was considered a key victory for prosecutors who aggressively pursued the maximum penalty to dete...

Look Who's Back Wesley Snipes, To Star In "Game Of Death"

Look Who's Back Wesley Snipes, To Star In "Game Of Death" Wesley Snipes Has been off the radar for some time, First it was making Straight To DVD movies for him, then all his legal issues. Which we will not go into. Looks like its time for a reinvention of himself . I have always been a fan of Wesley Snipes ( WMCJ , New Jack City , Blade ) and I wish him the best on his return to the Big screen. Wesley Snipes and helmer Abel Ferrara are reuniting on action-thriller "Game of Death." It's their first project together since Ferrara's 1990 cult pic " King of New York ." Snipes stars as a politician's bodyguard who must fend off five of the world's top assassins. Zoe Bell and Robert Davi co-star. "Death" was penned by James Agnew. Producers are Billy Dietrich and Rafael Primorac . Exec producers are Voltage Pictures' Nicolas Chartier and Nadine de Barros plus Roger Grad. Bridge financiers Alastair Burlingham and Steve R...
