First Look At Johnny Depp In POTC: Dead Men Tell No Tale

So far, Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales , the fifth installment of the sea-going mega-franchise, has largely been weathering storms of bad buzz. Word of script changes, weather delays and, most recently, Johnny Depp injuring his hand have not helped matters. Looking to get something a little more positive out there, producer Jerry Bruckheimer has unveiled a first look at Depp in the film. Unsurprisingly, he looks very much as you’d expect: Jack Sparrow being Jack Sparrow, getting into trouble and looking wide-eyed as he does so. The adventure this time has Kon-Tiki directors Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning sharing the captain’s chair, with Jack once again down on his luck. He’s being buffeted by even more ill fortune than usual, as deadly ghost pirates led by old nemesis Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem) escape from the Devil’s Triangle and start to kill every pirate at sea… Including hunting our hero. To survive, Jack will have to find the legendary Triden...

POTC:On Stranger Tides Movie Review By Jonathan Cyfer

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Movie Review By: Jonathan Cyfer Guest blogger The Missing Man is back and this time he rolled in with the tides for his review of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. You can compare my review with his after your done. Captain Jack is Back! I had an extra day off after getting back from vacation, so some friends and I decided to see Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011). Like most people (and most reviewers) after the disappointing third installment of the "Pirates" franchise, I was a little concerned that seeing "Stranger Tides" at the theatre would be a waste of my money. After all, both Thor and X-Men: First Class are also out and if I wanted to wait a couple of weeks, I could go see Green Lantern . However, Captain Jack not only beckoned me but my movie companions as well, so it was off in search of the Fountain of Youth for the lot of us. It's hard to say that I was disappointed w...

POTC:On Stranger Tides Movie Review SandwichJohn

Pirates of the Caribbean:On Stranger Tides Movie Review By: SandwichJohn Let's start this review by saying Pirates of the Caribbean:On Stranger Tides was better then Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End . Which isn't really saying much. Looks like this film did fall into the fourth film curse. Read the article HERE . I truly hope that they don't make another film in this franchise, but rumors have it more are on the way in the near future. I wasn't jumping out of my seat to see this film in the first place, but I had to do a review on the film and my oldest wanted to go, so what is a Dad to say. Gitty up, let's go see the movie. Spoiler Alert  From the opening of the film, you get the feeling that this movie is just going to be slow. We first see Jack Sparrow in London where he is to sentenced to death by hanging. But when Jack Sparrow is unhooded it is none other then his first mate Joshamee Gibbs ( Kevin McNally ) and the mysterious Judge who is r...

New Clip & Featurette From Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Today we got our hands on a T.V spot and a behind the scene featurette for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides . The film stars J ohnny Depp, Penélope Cruz, Ian McShane, Geoffrey Rush, Kevin McNally, Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey, Sam Claflin, Stephen Graham, Gemma Ward, and Richard Griffiths . The film is scheduled to be released on May 20, 2011. Watch the clips after the Jump... That metallic sheen could suggest any number of likelihoods. Perhaps Jack Sparrow will find an island of pirate Terminators, or get his skeleton laced with adamantium (either of which we would totally pay to see). Possibly it hints at an encounter with the Silver Surfer, or, at a stretch (because those other suggestions are so plausible) with Chromeskull from Laid to Rest. Or maybe it's a metaphor for On Stranger Tides itself: an entry in a franchise that's comfortably familiar but slightly tweaked. On Stranger Tides sees Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow and Geoffrey Rush as Hector B...

Pirates of the Caribbean 5 Is Being Written As We Speak

Even before the release of the newest installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean series. Disney has closed a deal with Terry Rossio to write the fifth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean. This will be the first one without Ted Elliott, his screenwriting accomplice on the first four pictures. The studio is also making moves to bring back director Rob Marshall for his second voyage on the franchise. This comes as his first effort, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides , is moving through post-production for a May 20, 2011 release. I'm told that Johnny Depp has a deal structure to return for a fifth film that will clearly be drawn up for him to reprise Jack Sparrow, though it's too early to consider him locked. The studio and Jerry Bruckheimer are consumed with the fourth installment, but Rossio's deal is done. Please Leave A Comment- Source- Deadline

What does it tell us? Absolutely nothing. What we have here is the usual franchise image of the piratey skull on the crossed swords, against a black background. It could be the teaser for any of the previous three Pirates movies, if not for the material the skull is fashioned from. View entire poster after the Jump..
