Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch Be Shown At 17 Children’s Hospitals & Health Facilities Across The U.S. This Month

To help spread the message of kindness and love during the holiday season, Universal Pictures and Lollipop Theater Network today announced that they are conducting private screenings of Illumination and Universal’s Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch at 17 children’s hospitals and health facilities across the country between December 4 and December 6.

“This holiday season we are thankful to partner with Universal Pictures and Illumination to screen The Grinch for pediatric patients across the U.S. This program fulfills our mission to bring the magic of movies to children confined to hospitals due to chronic or life-threatening illnesses,” said Evelyn Iocolano, Executive Director of Lollipop Theater Network.

“The incomparable work that Lollipop does is not only emblematic of the spirit of the holidays, it is an inspiration to us all,” said Jim Orr, President, Distribution, Universal Pictures and Advisory Board Member of Lollipop. “We are honored to work alongside the network of children’s hospitals and facilities to bring joy to these brave children and their families during December.”

Centers that will host the special screenings of Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch include—alphabetical by city name—Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston (Atlanta, GA); Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center (Boston, MA); Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago (Chicago, IL); Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (Chicago, IL); Medical City Children’s Hospital (Dallas, TX); Children’s Hospital Colorado (Aurora, CO); Children’s Hospital of Michigan (Detroit, MI); The University of Texas MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital (Houston, TX); UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital (Los Angeles, CA); Nicklaus Children’s Hospital (Miami, FL); University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital (Minneapolis, MN); Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone (New York, NY); Phoenix Children’s Hospital (Phoenix, AZ); St. Louis Children’s Hospital (St. Louis, MO); Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego, (San Diego, CA); Seattle Children’s Hospital (Seattle, WA); and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital (Washington, D.C.).

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce.
