BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Janet Arlotta To Write & Produce "Going Due South"

Arlotta bringing romance and laughs to New Orleans with new film Going Due South

Acclaimed author Janet Arlotta, a semi-finalist in Final Draft’s Big Break Screenwriting Contest, will write and produce the romantic comedy Going Due South.

Arlotta produces alongside Carol Eisenrauch.

The romantic comedy, set to shoot in New Orleans later this year, has kicked off a crowdfunding campaign on IndieGoGo.

An up-and-coming reality TV producer travels to the Big Easy to shoot her latest series and finds New Orleans too intoxicating to ignore and Daniel, the sexy southerner, too perfect to want to… even though her career hangs in the balance.

“Going Due South is about having a chance at love… the kind that makes you weak in the knees and longing for more”, says Arlotta, who has worked in nearly every facet of filmmaking . “This film is a romantic picturesque stroll through New Orleans and the two individuals who happen to stroll each other's way…and hopefully not trip.”
Going Due South’s script is garnering as much buzz in Hollywood as it is the interest of some of today’s most popular actors.
Arlotta, an author and screenwriter for nearly twenty years, was inspired to write a film set in New Orleans after living there while traveling the US in the back of a van.

New Jersey native Arlotta owned the world-renowned, Emmy award winning creative company FUEL, in Los Angeles, from 2001-2009. In 2012, Arlotta had the honor of having her work included in a Motion Type exhibit in the Gutenberg Museum in Mainz Germany.

The movie will shoot in such well-recognized NOLA locations as the French Quarter, Jackson Square, and Louis Armstrong Park.

2% of all funds raised on Indiegogo will be donated to the SEEDS organisation. SEEDS teaches respect for life, for the earth and for each other through gardening and growing food. Located in the heart of Downtown Durham, they are an urban sanctuary focused on promoting principles and practice of sustainable agriculture, organic gardening, food security and environmental stewardship.

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure...
