Reboot will be proton-packed with funny women.

Paul Feig’s distaff Ghostbusters reboot might be plucking yet another funny lady out of Saturday Night Live’s Studio 8H as Film Divider reports that Cecily Strong might be joining the cast alongside her SNL colleagues Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, as well as show alum Kristen Wiig.
The character earmarked for Strong is said to be “one of the biggest non-Ghostbuster parts aside from the villain” and “an authority figure who liaises with our heroines, privately backing their activities and acknowledging their legitimacy, but publicly denouncing the group to the media in order to avoid panic amongst the wider populous.”
If true, this would seem to be a character with no analogous counterpart in the original film, making it even clearer how much Feig intends this Ghostbusters to be its own animal. It’s also clear that, Internet griping notwithstanding, this thing is going to be filled to the brim with fine comediennes.
