BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Maleficent Poster has Arrived

The Maleficent marketing bods have been earning their corn (or magic beans, depending on the preference of Disney's payroll), with a campaign that's been strong in both identity and visual flair. Last year we had simple, stylish teasers like this debut effort, and this latest one-sheet is no less dazzling. Click on the image below for a closer look.

There's fairies and magic and a sleeping princess and EVIL lurking, just like our bedtime stories promised, as well as her from that Oscars selfie. As movie posters go, this one stands out like a giant in a world of poorly photoshopped dwarves.

The story sees Jolie's Maleficent grow up in an idyllic forest, only to see it ravaged by an invading army. She's then betrayed by those closest to her, leaving her heart poisoned and her mind corrupted by thoughts of vengeance. Out for revenge, she curses the baby daughter of the invading king – but as the child grows up (into Super 8er Elle Fanning), she realises that the youngster may be the key to peace between the kingdoms.

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure...
