Before Tom Hardy bulked up (again) and chilled audiences as Batman's nemesis Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, the actor got to play a villainous, younger, cloned version of Capt. Jean-Luc Picard in 2002's Star Trek: Nemesis. I don't even remember this movie or his role in the film. Now you can watch his first interaction with Picard himself, played by Sir Patrick Stewart.
The newly unearthed screen test is intermingled with the actual movie's filmed scenes, so you can have a nice look at the different nuances the two British actors brought both to the screen test and then to the actual finished film.
At the time, Hardy was a green and mostly unknown actor (with a few small roles in Band of Brothers and Black Hawk Down), but Star Trek: Nemesis helped get the young British thespian some international exposure with a performance that was both tragic and chilling—even though Nemesis became a complete commercial flop.
