BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Dawn Olivieri Lands In Missionary

The Vampire Diaries actress Dawn Olivieri, who played Andie on the CW drama for five episodes, has booked a role in the independent film Missionary.

Olivieri, who can next be seen in the upcoming Showtime comedy House of Lies opposite Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell, will play Katherine in the project, which is written and produced by Scott Poiley and Bruce Wood. Anthoyn DiBlasi will direct the film. Poiley, Wood and DiBlasi worked together on Cassadaga, which stars Kevin Alejandro.

Missionary revolves around a young missionary from the Church of Jesus Christ who has skewed God's instructions in his efforts to win the affections of a married woman he feels should be his wife and soulmate for eternity.

Olivieri's character is a beautiful, thirtysomething blue-collar mother who has an 11-year-old son. Katherine, separated from her husband, meets the missionary and becomes emotionally vulnerable. Their relationship turns dangerous when she discovers the man is unstable.

Olivieri, who has appeared mostly in TV shows like Heroes, Californication and Rules of Engagement as of late, is repped by APA and Mosaic.

Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce.
