BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Hugh Jackman's Diet For Wolverine 2

As Wolverine, Hugh Jackman's a tall, lean muscle machine. However, in the Marvel comics, Wolverine's really quite a short and stocky (and VERY muscular) guy. So for The Wolverine, director Darren Aronofsky told the Australian actor to really beef it up in order to match the comic-book character's more massive look.

So what's a guy to do? Pack on many, many calories.

That's what Jackman is doing right now to prepare for his role in the X-Men Origins: Wolverine sequel (yes, we know it's not REALLY a sequel but more of a stand-alone film)—packing in a whopping 6,000 calories a day to add more muscles to his tall, 6-foot-2.5-inch, 210-pound (he started at 190) frame.

Jackman admits to finding it rather difficult, saying: "I'm on it right now, mate, already doing it. It's 6,000 calories a day, it's rough."

The actor further explains why he's undertaking this intense diet:

"Darren said with the last one, 'Hey you looked great, but you're so tall that in those long shots you looked kind of like Clint Eastwood, and that's not Wolverine.' He said that Wolverine, in the comics, is powerful, stocky, you know, he's short and thick. So he said, 'I want you to go there, get bigger.'"

Jackman also adds:

"He's thick and it's chunky and it's powerful. I always think of Mike Tyson when he first came on the scene. Sometimes, he was a full foot shorter than his opponents and bent over [with this] massive build. There's real power. You said bulldog, and that's it exactly. Exactly. That's what I'm going for, and if I have a massive heart attack first, well, you tell everyone what I was going for."

We never really thought there was anything wrong with the muscles Jackman was packing in the last film, though, but as long as he's not lost in a complete pile of muscles ... why not?

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure...
