Let's Hope He Has A Charger
This ain't your everyday Coleman campsite lantern. It's the space battery that will power Ryan Reynold's in the upcoming Green Lantern film, and it has been unleashed to the world.
Here's Alittle History on the Oan power lantern.
Oan Energy Conduit: The rings use Oan energy (supplied by a Green Lantern Power Battery.) Power Batteries are constantly charged by the Central Power Battery to manually fuel about 7200 individual Green Lantern Rings. With few exceptions, the Power Ring was limited to a 24-hour charge and needed to be recharged at the Power Battery on a daily basis. However, that limit has been removed, meaning a Lantern is only obligated to recharge their ring when the power levels are depleted or gone. The amount of energy in a ring is measured by the ring, and relayed to the Lantern via a percentage scale of 0% - 100%.
When Abin Sur died, his Power Battery and Power Ring were passed onto the Human known as Hal Jordan. As he was growing accustomed to becoming a Green Lantern, Jordan used to store his Power Battery in a locker.
Come and see the picture after the Jump..
Warner Brothers can't be thrilled that this image hit the net today, given that they went out of their way to make a big splash with the lantern at Spike TV's Scream awards, which taped over the weekend and will air on 10/19. Ryan Reynolds took to the stage in the shadow of the new power lantern to accept the Most Anticipated Movie award on behalf of Green Lantern ... because movies don't have hands.
