Drama On The Set Of Transformers: Age Of Extinction

There have been reports today that Michael Bay got into a fight on the set of Transformers: Age Of Extinction . However, our sources on set say not so! There was an incident, but this was not a case where a passionate director riled a member of his cast and crew sufficiently that punches were thrown nor, according to this report, did it involve two brothers. Here is the rather more sad report from the set. "Contrary to several erroneous news reports, Bay did not get hurt in a fight on his set. The production company did have a rather bizarre encounter with a man (allegedly under the influence of a narcotic substance) who was wielding an air conditioning unit as his weapon of choice. "The young man, who had earlier accosted several other crew members, barreled onto the set in Quarry Bay and swung the cumbersome appliance directly at Bay's head. The director ducked and wrested the air conditioner from his attacker, preventing what could have been a serious accident....

Here's What We Like & Hate About Agents Of SHIELD.

Here's what we like and hate about Agents of SHIELD. By: MattInRC The Verdict: Three weeks in, and our show's sporting too many cracks in their armor. There's a lot to love about Marvel Studios right now: one could call them the (Mad) titan of promotion, or the Green Rage Monster in the room. All borrowing of Marvel properties aside, we can't help but be consistently impressed with how this studio has promoted itself and keeps the buzz going week after week. So imagine our surprise when the first episode of their new television series Agents of SHIELD debuted three weeks ago; our verdict was 'cautiously optimistic,' happy to see it on the air but worried about casting and rumors of terrible upcoming scripts. When ABC announced this week that they were ordering a full season, we decided to weigh in on what's been working so far and what needs improvement. Sadly, our attitude towards the series has become decidedly worse. What Works From plenty of...

Superman's 75th Anniversary Animated Short

Warner Bros. Animation have teamed up with Man Of Steel director Zack Snyder to create a special two minute cartoon short in honour of Superman's 75th Anniversary , touching on (almost) every incarnation you can think of - from Siegel and Shuster's original Action Comics cover to Henry Cavill's British Blue Boy Scout - and making its viewers long to rewatch Superman II just one more time in the process. Bruce Timm was the animation guru in charge of it all, a veteran of such shows as Batman: The Animated Series and Justice League Unlimited , and the man who had to work out what was worthy of the cut and what wasn't. In short: no Brandon Routh , and no Dean Cain , but somehow an 1978 Atari 2600 video game snuck in, as did Jimmy Olsen's time as Turtle Man. Still, despite the absence of Teri Hatcher's Lois Lane or Peter Cook's Nigel from Supergirl, the piece is a highly rewatchable triumph - if only because of the bit where Supes is in a boxing r...

That Awkward Moment Red-Band Trailer

Ah, the age-old story of how men and women view romance differently, and how so many misunderstandings can happen when wires are crossed... Despite a well-worn premise and apparent difficultly finding a decent title (it’s already been through the on-the-nose Are We Officially Dating?) That Awkward Momen t actually looks like it could be entertaining. Check out the evidence in this first, red band trailer that features plenty of swearing and one big fake phallus. The main reason for hope here is the easy chemistry between leading men Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan and, yes, Zac Efron . They play best buds Jason, Mikey and Daniel, who are all dealing with different levels of confusion over relationships or the status thereof. When Mikey is dumped, the trio decides to go out on the town to drown his sorrows (with Daniel and Jason trying Viagra as an ill-advised way to avoid brewer’s droop). We also get to see their various interactions with the women in their lives, including Imog...
