Well, that didn't take too long. Just few days after we reported that a group of actors were auditioning and screen testing to join Margot Robbie in new Warners/DC pic Birds Of Prey , Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Jurnee Smollett-Bell have won their respective parts. Winstead will be playing Huntress , a character that has had different variations in the comics, including a run as the daughter of Batman and Catwoman. While the likes of Sofia Boutella, Cristin Milioti and Margaret Qualley were up for that role, Winstead has emerged victorious. Likewise Smollett-Bell , who scored the role of Black Canary , known for for her shrieking cry, beat out Gugu Mbatha-Raw . Robbie , of course, will be back as Harley Quinn , with the mismatched team working together to fight a greater threat in Gotham. LA Femme Film Festival will host a female-centric anime event at the 14th Annual LA Femme International Film Festival on Friday, October 12th, 4 pm at the Regal Cinema at LA Live.
