In good news for the remaining cast, and particularly the crew of Netflix's political drama House Of Cards , the streaming service has reached an agreement to continue shooting the show and wrapping the series up with an abbreviated sixth season, which will focus on Robin Wright 's Claire Underwood, while sidestepping the need for Kevin Spacey 's Frank Underwood to appear. The move comes after claims of sexual misconduct were made against Spacey, claims that have multiplied and forced Netflix and production company Media Rights Capital to halt production on the show and potentially to cancel it outright. This is one story we feel should be filed under, "Well, OF COURSE", especially since creators the Duffer brothers essentially confirmed that they were working on ideas for the next set of episodes. But the announcement has been now been made officially: Netflix has greenlit a third season of Stranger Things . One of the biggest hits on TV in 2016, the show returned this year for a well-regarded second season and is going from strength to strength with its tales of apocalyptically weird things happening in the small Indiana town of Hawkins. Nothing official has been said about what the new season will entail, but the creators have said that they'll need to jump forward in time again to accommodate their young stars' aging appearances. We'd expect the majority of the cast to return, and while there is no official date for Season 3, the horror themes continue to make the Halloween season feel like the most logical placement. Variety is reporting in an effort to continue to fill their slate with fresh IP, Sony has closed a development deal for the rights to the classic blaxploitation pic “ Superfly ,” with “Watchmen” scribe Alex Tse penning the script. The film is inspired by the 1972 classic, which starred Ron O’Neal as Priest, a cocaine dealer looking to score one more super deal and retire. The movie was directed by Gordon Parks Jr., the son of Gordon Parks, who directed another blaxploitation classic “Shaft” — one of the staples in the early years of the genre that took the ’70s by storm. While the film is a cult hit, its soundtrack may be even more popular. Composed by R&B legend Curtis Mayfield, the soundtrack would go on to become the only to outgross its film’s box office earnings.
