BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Matthew Vaughn in Talks to Direct 'Flash Gordon'

The Kingsman director is poised to bring Flash Gordon back to the big screen. Story by Matt Cummings If you've listened to our Inside the Bucket podcasts, you know of our boss' affection for the 1980 Sci-Fi film Flash Gordon . Full of camp and cheese, the film followed the extraterrestrial exploits of the titular character (played by Sam J. Jones). But the 'franchise' (if you can even call it that) has been in a slumbering coma. Gordon, a football star who becomes a space adventurer - battled Ming the Merciless and captured the heart of human Dale Arden (Melody Anderson). The movie doesn't hold up at all for many reasons, and there's not exactly a lot of clamor to see it return. But that could be changing. Our friends at THR are reporting that Kingsman: The Secret Service director Matthew Vaughn could be working on a Flash Gordon movie series reboot. Negations between he and 20th Century Fox are currently underway, which represents the

How Netflix's 'Daredevil' Matches Up to the Comics

We compare some of the plot points and story beats and analyze the possible scenarios Season 2 may take. Story by Matt Cummings By now, you've heard that online distributor Netflix has partnered with Marvel to produce a series of television programs featuring several Nick Cage, Jessica Jones, and Daredevil. The latter premiered on April 9th as a 13-episode series, and tells the story of the blinded Matt Murdock, lawyer by day and crime fighter by night. He uses his heightened senses and fierce fighting skills to clean up Hell's Kitchen, a particularly nasty borough near The Avengers' climactic battle in Manhattan. But this isn't merely a jumping off point for a collection of Netflix-based heroes: Netflix has made some very interesting connections and planted many, many easter egss for the diehard fans. The result is a vastly-improved series over ABC's Agents of SHIELD ( read Brandon's most recent review here ), but how do the television and comic

Wonder Woman Finds A New Director

DC spends little time in finding Michelle MacLaren's replacement. Story by Matt Cummings With news that Director Michelle MacLaren had left the long-awaited Wonder Woman film last week, it seemed like fans might have been denied one of The Justice League's top cops. Not so much. On Wednesday, Warner Bros ( via THR ) announced that director Patty Jenkins has agreed to step in. Does the name sound familiar? It might, if you had been following the development of Thor: The Dark World. Jenkins departed that production (due to creative differences), allowing Game of Thrones helmer Alan Taylor to step in. This signing hopefully ends the small circus that had developed around the Amazonian Princess’ first solo movie. Names like Angelina Jolie were circulated, but it was the Monster director Jenkins who finally won out. She's primarily known for her director that nabbed Actress Charlize Theron a Best Actress Oscar in 2011, but Jenkins has directed episodes o
Netflix’s Orange is the New Black to Return for 4th Season in 2016. Story by @Erika Ashley Just 2 short months before Netflix’s season 3 release of their hit original series Orange is the New Black, they have announced the confirmation of OINTB Season 4 to return in 2016. The new series which has caught like wildfire has raised a wide range of popularity. Seasons 1 and 2 have been consistently released with only a few months’ hiatus between each which keeps the series fresh. Although like many other series casting fluctuations have hit the show by losing a few key components, such as Jason Biggs departure at the end of season 2, overall the main characters have remained intact. Rumor of new characters joining the story and the twist brought in a recently released teaser clip for season 3 has the Twitter-verse screaming for more. OINTB season 3 will premiere on June 12th so stay tuned.

TV Review: Justified Series Finale - "The Promise"

Hat's off to a great series. Review by Brandon Wolfe For nearly every year of its run, Justified has ended each season with some version of the song “You’ll Never Leave Harlan Alive,” written by Darrell Scott. The song, a mournful ballad about the oppressively magnetic pull of Harlan, a hard-luck coal-mining town in eastern Kentucky, lent the series an air of impending dread from the start, seemingly laying out the immutable path its characters were on. The song's recurrence, year by year, seemed to drill home the point deeper and deeper that when the end comes, there is going to be a body count and nobody’s ever after is going to come happily. Harlan’s inescapable grasp was set up in the pilot episode of Justified , when our hero, Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant), is sent back to the sleepy hamlet, his hometown, from Miami as penance for gunning down a sleazy kingpin. That shooting, Raylan claimed, was justified, as the man pulled his weapon first, b
