Ridley Scott is returning to the futuristic world of Blade Runner , his iconic 1982 film, for a new feature for Warners-based Alcon Entertainment. Adapted from Philip K. Dick’s story Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?,” Scott’s original film -- with its mix of rainy, neon-lit exteriors, its human-like androids call replicants, and its shadowy, controlling corporation -- established a template for dystopian views of the future. In 2007, it was named the second most visually influential film of all time by the Visual Effects Society. While the new movie is being described as a “follow-up” to the first film, the filmmakers have not yet disclosed whether it will function as a prequel or a sequel to the original. I don’t care what downers and haters say, I think this movie rocks! GRIFF THE INVISIBLE is an irresistible, adorable, quirky love story. Ryan Kwanten and Maeve Dermody deliver a different kind of perfect chemistry, unlike anything I’ve ever seen in superhero universe. I suppose the movie could be better written, the writing is definitely not its strongest suit but the intention still gets across and I think with a gazillion movies out there about normal people with no powers, playing vigilantes (Watchmen, Kick-Ass, Super), GRIFF THE INVISIBLE presents the lonely side of the job and what it means to accept someone for who they choose themselves to be, not for who the society think they should be. Describing its new seven-year deal with Fox as the ultimate "milestone" for a sport that has broken out of its niche, UFC president Dana White said the deal would propel the mixed martial arts genre and UFC "to the next level." "There have been a lot of big milestones that we've had over the last ten years," White said during a press conference Thursday announcing the deal.
