It’s a project that will have everybody in Hollywood and beyond talking.  Warner Bros has set up an untitled drama that teams Gibson and screenwriter Joe Eszterhas on the telling of the heroic story of Jewish warrior Judah Maccabee . Eszterhas will write the script, and I understand that Gibson will collaborate with him. Maccabee teamed with his father and four brothers to lead the Jewish revolt against the Greek-Syrian armies that had conquered Judea in the second century B.C. Gibson has the first option to direct but will definitely produce the film through his Icon Productions banner. It’s understandable why Warner Bros would want to be back in business with Gibson, who was once a high-profile fixture there and who made a fortune for that studio with the Lethal Weapon series and other films. Ben Affleck is stepping back in time for his next role. The actor, who will be playing former CIA agent Tony Mendez in his new film Argo , was photographed on the movie's L.A. set in full 70s garb. For the character, Affleck sports a longer, shaggy hairstyle and was wearing a period-perfect wide-lapel shirt and sports coat. The film, which follows the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis and the CIA's secret plan to smuggle six American diplomats out of the country by disguising them as a Canadian film crew (in cooperation with the Canadian government), is set for release in 2012. After The Expendables turned in a surprisingly strong $275 million worldwide gross, many have wondered what they would do for an encore. How’s this? Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis have just closed deals to take “ substantial ” roles in The Expendables 2 , alongside Sylvester Stallone . This has been rumored as possible, and it basically answers the hopes of a lot of fans who weren’t satisfied when action icons Schwarzenegger and Willis turned in cameos in the original, and poked fun at the days when they were the world’s top action stars. Stallone directed the first one but stepped out and the job went to Simon West. Filming will begin in October, and Lionsgate will once again release the Millennium Films-produced actioner. Schwarzenegger is already working for Lionsgate in the Jee-Won Kim-directed action film Last Stand . Chris Tucker is apparently ready for moviegoers to hear more words coming out of his mouth. The fast-talking actor-comedian is in talks for a role in The Silver Linings Playbook for writer-director David O. Russell and The Weinstein Co. Tucker hasn't been on the big screen since 2007, when he last reprised his detective role opposite Jackie Chan in Rush Hour 3 . Playbook , which is scheduled to shoot in the fall, stars Bradley Cooper as a high school teacher just released from a mental institution after four years and looking to reconcile with his wife.
