BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

TV Review: #Containment – S01E01 - Pilot Episode

This has to be one of the most intriguing pilot episodes I’ve seen thus far for a viral/zombie/outbreak show. Review By Erika Ashley A virus breaks out in the heart of Atlanta weaving a group of strangers into a deadly mix. During this pilot episode of the much anticipated new television drama Containment breaks into the scene with a bang. Jump start to a preview of Day 13 of the viral outbreak. The National Guard busts out of a trucking container into a frenzy of citizens fighting for survival. Bodies are burning in the street, a mother screams for help while carrying a bloodied lifeless child in her arms. A true feast for the eyes of hungry horror and gore fanatics. Flash back to the beginning – Day 1 of the outbreak. A group of children visit the Atlanta Midtown Hospital on a field trip accompanied by their doe-eyed teacher, Katie Frank. While the children enter the facility the scene jumps to a doctor, Rita Sanders, showing signs of infection and is quarantined. She reca...

Movie Review: It Follows

Not Just Another Horror Flick. WARNING: This review contains major spoilers. Review by David Clark The anticipated wide theatrical release of the independent film It Follows is close at hand. This should be good news for fans of the horror genre. The film follows a group of high school students as they deal with the intricacies of peer pressure, social anxiety, sexual tension, and relationships that have plagued teenagers for generations. The main stars in the movie are Maika Monroe (Jay), Lili Sepe (Kelly), Keir Gilchrist (Paul), Olivia Luccardi (Yara), Jake Weary (Jeff), and Daniel Zovatto (Greg). The cast that commanded the majority of the screen time for this movie has little experience in the film industry. They are also a fairly young group, mostly in their early-to-mid twenties, which makes sense considering they are portraying a group of teenagers. Despite being young in the industry and life, these actors and actresses put forth a believable and entertainin...

Dark House Review By: Matt Cummings The B-movie slasher Dark House isn't so bad - but it could have been better. For many years, the B-slasher genre has been plagued by poor acting and low-budget gore, failing to garner the attention of mass audiences. Dark House proves that the latter is no longer a hindrance, but also demonstrates that the genre is getting closer to respectability. Nick ( Luke Kleintank ) has a unique gift: he can see a person's death merely by touching them. He knows how his mother (who checked herself into a mental institution) will die, but has never met his father. When his mother suddenly dies - exactly the way he had foreseen - Nick learns that not only is his father alive but that he may hold the key to understanding Nick's origin. He sets out with his pregnant girlfriend Eve ( Alex McKenna ) and his best friend Ray ( Anthony Rey Perez ) to uncover the truth, only to find that a dilapidated mansion from his distant memory holds the key t...
