Ruby Rose As Batwoman First Look

Ever since Arrow debuted in 2013, American network the CW has cultivated an ever-growing inter-connected roster of small-screen superheroes that also takes in the likes of The Flash, Supergirl, John Constantine and the Legends of Tomorrow . Its latest addition is Batwoman , with Ruby Rose (of John Wick: Chapter Two and The Meg fame) suiting up for the role. And speaking of suiting up, The Hollywood Reporter has shared the first image of her as Kate Kane in the cowl and cape. Rose is set to make her first appearance as Kane in upcoming Arrow-verse crossover event ‘ Elseworlds ’, which will begin later in the current Season 7 of Arrow on 9 December, and continue through The Flash and Supergirl. Once established, Batwoman will receive her own standalone series overseen by Greg Berlanti, and scripted by Caroline Dries. Kane is Bruce Wayne’s cousin with a tragic backstory of her own – her mother and twin sister were killed when she was 12, and she was later kicked out of the milita

Supergirl Flies Over To The CW

There has been some question on whether or not Supergirl , the Melissa Benoist series, would be renewed for a second season. CBS, made no secrets of its disappointment with ratings compared to the high per episode production cost. But a reprieve has come in the form of the CW, American homebase for Arrow, The Flash and DC's Legends Of Tomorrow , which has picked the show up. As to the physical make-up of the series, it will be interesting to see what impact the shifting of networks has considering that the CW does not fund to the same extent that CBS does. Unknown is whether or not the entire cast will make the network jump along with Benoist due to potential fiscal issues. Already there's been talk of production making a cost-cutting move to Vancouver, where the other DC series are shot by their producer, Greg Berlanti. This past season Grant Gustin's The Flash crossed over to Supergirl pretty seamlessly, so from a creative point of view this would seem to open up m

@FunkoDCLegion Review: May 2016

The first volley fired by DC looks strangely familiar. Review by Matt Cummings On our last installment, we introduced you to DC's Legion of Collectors box, an eerily similar Funko every-other-monthly that made a very good first impression. And although the stink of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is still in our noses, we're ready to move on to the (much better) television side, as Arrow and his posse arrive. The Promise Before we begin, let's look at the deal again: promising a value of $50, the sub continues the tradition of Funko partnering each time to deliver an exclusive figure and t-shirt without the fluff or filter (their words). Joining at the VIGILANTE MEMBERSHIP, members receive 6 boxes every year, with the promise of an exclusive themed collectible gift on the one-year anniversary of your annual membership pf $150 p sh/h. You can also subscribe at the SIDEKICK LEVEL at $25 with $6.95 shipping. That's literally the same deal as Marvel

Soundtrack Review: #ArrowSeason 3

Season 3's score is filled with brash tactics, sweeping epics, and incredible pay offs. Review by Matt Cummings Super heroes and their television drumbeats are undergoing one impressive chrysalis. Ill-content to simply be complimentary to a network's lineup of comedies and procedurals, comic book series have found fertile ground on the small screen with series like Arrow , The Flash , Agents of SHIELD , and others. Composer Blake Neely is helping to forge these soundscapes with big sounds for small packages, drawing the blueprint for the next generation of innovative television soundtracks. With the release of the very good Arrow Season 3 , we get all the proof we need that Neely is in full control of that movement. Produced by La-La Land Records, DC Comic and Warner Bros. Television, the 2-disc set arrives well-apportioned and filled with memorable reminders of why we love Neely's work. Already well-known for blending synthesizers, and violins with sound
