Hugh Jackman Says "Wolverine 3" is His Last

You get only two more times to see the iconic actor in the role...maybe. Story by Matt Cummings The X-men film series has seemingly gone through its own version of the classic Phoenix storyline: critics have largely panned its poor plots, with some of the early films failing to hold up under today's Avengers standards. One thing that cannot be denied is its extremely strong casting: Ian McKellan as Magneto and Patrick Stewart as Professor Xavier have been excellent, some say iconic. But standing atop that list is Hugh Jackman, whose portrayal of the mutant Wolverine has made him a household name. Unfortunately, you're only going to get two more chances to see him suit up the Adamantium claws, if recent posts by the actor are to be believed. On Saturday, the 46 year old sent out this message via Instagram: WOLVERINE ...ONE LAST TIME. Big Movie Questions - Q4 Report

As 2014 comes to a close, we look back at several movie questions we've posed throughout the year. Story by Matt Cummings The fourth quarter of the movie season is much like the holiday season: theaters crowded with customers and Hollywood licking its chops in hopes for strong returns. As 2014 has unfolded, it's clear that Hollywood's business plan was not as strong as one would have hoped, showing off a great Q1, a good Q2, and a frankly awful Q3. And while the year has delivered the great ( Captain America: The Winter Solider and The LEGO Movie ), the very good ( The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 ), and the surprising ( Guardians of the Galaxy ), several of our Big Movie Questions were yet to be answered. With the holidays wrapping up, we can close out 2014 by unwrapping the rest of our gifts. We've collected all the questions we've asked this year into one article so you don't have to look back to see them all. Welcome to our 2014 Big Movie Q

Top Domestic Movies of 2014: How Do They Match Up?

We breakdown the most successful films so far in 2014. This week, we broke down some of the best films so far of 2014, but how does that list compare to the domestic box office? You might be surprised. Here are the top 7 domestic money makers of 2014. Which are on your list? Top Domestic Movies of 2014 1. Captain America: The Winter Solider - 257.846m 2. The LEGO Movie - 257.092m 3. X-Men: Days of Future Past - 227m 4. Malificent - 213.8m 5. The Amazing Spider-man 2 - 200.376m 6. Godzilla - 197m 7. Transformers: Age of Extinction - 174.746m This list provides us interesting details about the overall health of the box office. For one, we see that the top 5 films of 2014 have all made over $200 million, a stark contrast to June, when we had only one (The LEGO Movie). As a matter of comparison, 2013 featured only two: Iron Man 3 and Oz: The Great and Powerful . Of course by August 31 2013, we had 7 films over $200m and two more poised to reach that rarified

Weekend Box Office Report: June 29th 2014

Age of Extinction wipes out the competition. Transformers: Age of Extinction rolled out to an impressive $100 million opening in the U.S. and $301.3 million worldwide, becoming the top opening film of 2014. Its opening is not the highest of the series: that still belongs to Revenge of the Fallen ($108 million). Although the film cost an estimated $210 million, the film has already made most of that back, even if you add marketing to that total. The success of its opening week can be traced to two things: Director Michael Bay reloading the cast with the more fan/press-friendly Mark Wahlberg and better heavyweights Stanley Tucci and Kelsey Grammer, and the Transformers name itself, which always guarantees large opening crowds and plenty of buzz. And while the film has gotten slammed on RottenTomatoes - with a measely 17% approval rate - it's faired better on other sites like CinemaScore, which was given an "A-" by fans. We weren't impressed at all with A

Channing Tatum Talks Gambit

We’ve known for a while that Channing Tatum has ambitions to play roguishly charming, New Orleans native X-Men mutant Gambit on screen, and that X-producer Laura Shuler Donner would also like it to happen, which means the idea is now in official development. While out stumping for 22 Jump Street , Tatum has shared more of his hopes for the character . “Creatively, we’re starting to chug forward. Obviously there’s nothing official,” Tatum told MTV News about the progress so far. “There are only conversations and dreams right now, really.” Still, he’s happy that it’s even gotten this far. “I’ve been pretty vocal about wanting to be the part of Gambit for a very long time. It’s a weird, pinching-myself moment that we’re even having the conversation.” Though there has been talk of meeting this new Gambit in X-Men: Apocalypse, the follow-up to Days Of Future Past, Tatum believes that they could go another way in re-introducing the character originally embodied by Taylor Kitsch in X-Me

Days of Future Past Review: What X-Men Should Have Been All Along

X-Men: Days of Future Past is a sound superhero flick that dares to admit, "We did it wrong." 20th Century Fox's X-Men franchise is a study in inconsistent frustration. Riddled with canon issues from 2000's X-Men through the highly controversial The Last Stand , comic fans and newbies have come to woefully accept that their vision of the Marvel comic is no longer their own. After a refreshing reboot in First Class , hope was aroused that Fox had finally gotten its act together, and then The Wolverine arrived and that hope seemed dashed once more. But Days of Future Past re-establishes the universe, cleaning up several (but not all) major plot holes while delivering an excellent superhero character study that doesn't need a lot of big effects to sell itself. The future is a dark and dreadful existence, as both humans and mutants suffer under the thumb of The Sentinels - massive robots initially built to target mutants. Unfortunately, their pr
