The scares begin with the 1976 classic, The Town That Dreaded Sundown , followed by the World Television Premiere of the newest version of the film, from horrormeisters Ryan Murphy (“American Horror Story”) and Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity). Drew Goddard also is writing the film, which will focus on the villains of the Spider-Man universe. The Cabin in the Woods helmer Drew Goddard is nearing a deal to direct Sinister Six , the Spider-Man spinoff that he's also writing. Goddard, who worked with Kurtzman, Orci and Jeff Pinkner on TV’s  Alias , was one of the saviors of  World War Z  after that movie ran into third act trouble. He wrote and made his directorial debut with the 2012 horror film  The Cabin in the Woods , and will write and executive produce Netflix's  Daredevil . In December, Sony hired Goddard to pen the script for the film, which will focus on the villains in Spider-Man's world. In an effort to expand the Spider-Man universe, Sony in December also hired Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci , and Ed Solomon to work on another spinoff, titled Venom , centered on the black-costumed villain that already made his big-screen debut in the third Spider-Man movie of the Sam Raimi trilogy. Overbrook Entertainment will produce the film based on the latest work from the " World War Z " author. Sony has picked up rights to The Harlem Hellfighters , Max Brooks' upcoming graphic novel based on the true story of an African American WWI Army infantry unit . Hitting stores on April 1 via Broadway Books, The Harlem Hellfighters is based on the Army's 369th infantry division, an African American unit fighting in Europe during World War I. Breaking down racial barriers, the unit spent more time in combat than any other American unit, never losing a foot of ground to the enemy, or a man to capture, and went on to win countless decorations. Though they returned to the U.S. as heroes, the unit faced tremendous discrimination, even from their own government. The story chronicles their journey from the enlistment lines in Harlem to the training camp at Spartanburg, South Carolina, to the trenches in France. The graphic novel was illustrated by Caanan White.
