Warner Bros. Will Send Entire 2021 Slate to HBO Max and Theaters

Warner Bros. is plotting a sweeping response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which has shuttered movie theaters around the country. After announcing that Wonder Woman 1984 will go to HBO Max as well as theaters on Dec. 25, the studio has laid out a similar path for its 2021 slate amid uncertainty about when movie-going will get back to normal.  The studio announced Thursday day-and-date releases for its 17-film slate, which will hit HBO Max for a one-month window that starts the same day they will be available in U.S. theaters.    The studio's 2021 slate includes projects such as The Suicide Squad, The Matrix 4, Dune, Godzilla vs. Kong and Space Jam: A New Legacy . Other films include Little Things, Judas and the Black Messiah, Tom & Jerry, Mortal Kombat, Those Who Wish Me Dead, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, In The Heights, Reminiscence, Malignant, The Many Saints of Newark, King Richard and Cry Macho . The unprecedented move is likely to catch theater...

Wonder Woman 1984 Moved To August

There has recently been some chatter suggesting that Wonder Woman 1984 could be next on the list of films heading to video on demand. But Warner Bros. has decided instead to move the new superhero film, shifting it from planned cinematic June release to August. "When we greenlit WW 1984 it was with every intention to be viewed on the big screen and are excited to announce that Warner Bros. Pictures will be bringing the film to theatres on August 14th. We hope the world will be in a safer and healthier place by then,” says WB. Motion Picture Group Chairman Toby Emmerich in a statement. It makes sense – given the enormous resources poured into making the movie, a home entertainment release, even at the price being used by other studios, just didn't work without an initial big screen showing. The studio has also decided to move some of its other movies, all of which are now waiting to learn when they'll arrive: Scooby-Doo origin story Scoob!, Jon M. Chu's adaptatio...

Wonder Woman 1984 Poster & No Comic-Con Presence This Year

In a somewhat surprising move, Warner Bros. has announced that the studio will be skipping the San Diego Comic-Con's popular Hall H presentation schedule, favoring its own focus on films such as I t: Chapter Two away from the convention center. But what of convention-nip including Wonder Woman 1984 ? That is continuing its campaign via social media, with a new poster online. Gal Gadot 's Diana Prince goes for gold with the new image, with a vibrant, Day-Glo, '80s-appropriate background and her typically determined look. As for the film, most of the story is under wraps, though we do know that it'll catch up with the titular heroine in the 1980s, when she faces new challenges, particularly from the powerful Cheetah ( Kristen Wiig ). And there will also be the return of Chris Pine 's Steve Trevor, who seemingly died at the end of the 2017 original. Pedro Pascal is also part of the cast, with Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen returning as Antiope and Hippolyta...

Wonder Woman 1984 Pushed To Summer Of 2020

If you were excitedly waiting for the return of Gal Gadot's Diana Prince to our screens next year in Wonder Woman 1984 , we have news. You'll have to wait until June 2020 instead. Warner Bros. announced the news on Monday, pairing the slightly bitter pill of the delay with word that it'll screen in IMAX. But should this set you worrying that something is wrong with the latest instalment of the best DCEU film series so far, don't panic just yet. According to the studio, the delay is so that 1984 can occupy a similar summer slot to the original. "We had tremendous success releasing the first Wonder Woman film during the summer so when we saw an opportunity to take advantage of the changing competitive landscape, we did," says Warner Bros.' Jeff Goldstein. "This move lands the film exactly where it belongs." The sequel, once again directed by Patty Jenkins, picks up Wonder Woman's story in the mid-198s, where she will face new threats (i...

First Look At Pedro Pascal In 'Wonder Woman 1984'

Aside from this year's San Diego Comic-Con, mostly what we've seen of anticipated superhero sequel Wonder Woman 1984 has come from director Patty Jenkins' Twitter feed. She's back with a new image that features Pedro Pascal in a none-more-'80s power suit, which you can see above. No information has been released about who Pascal is playing, but that tie alone screams "wrong 'un!" We'll have to wait and see who he turns out to be. Gal Gadot is definitely back as Diana Prince, this time battling evil ( Kristen Wiig will cause trouble for her as archaeologist Barbara Minerva, who becomes the villain known as Cheetah) and we'll also see Chris Pine 's Steve Trevor, who is mysteriously back despite kicking the bucket in explosive style at the end of the first film.
