Things got a little crazy in the Indiana town of Hawkins in November 1983. Will Byers went missing, his mother ( Winona Ryder ) got very attached to a particular set of Christmas lights, everyone forgot about Barb (RIP, Barb), and a Demogorgon caused a fair amount of chaos. Though we can’t yet report on what seasonal goods will catch Ms Byers’ eye this time around, it’s safe to assume that things are about to get even crazier. Here’s the official synopsis: It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the Demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived. Sounds nasty. Stranger Things 2 will launch globally on Netflix on 27 October. Now that the Super Bowl teaser for the show informed us that Stranger Things ' second season will arrive this coming Halloween, Netflix is following that with new images from the next run of episodes. There's nothing more we at SJF hate than missed opportunities: films like Homefront stand alongside Paranoia and A Good Day to Die Hard at the top of 2013's most disappointing. Here is the red-Band trailer for Homefront . Be warned that Jason Statham and James Franco go about their mutually vengeful business in a way that's probably not safe for work (without headphones). Much more than last time in the way of people being shot to bits and resoundingly beaten there, plus some particularly ripe dialogue and one of those flashbacks where The Stath has hair. Always enjoy those. It's looking to be another retro-throwback '80s style R-rated actioner, of which there have been a few this year. This one has the benefit of having been written by Mr Sly Stallone himself. If you watch carefully you'll even see a bullet to the head. Thanks to the official Facebook page for Frankenweenie , we got our hands on the first poster for the film. The film is based on a 1984 short that Tim Burton directed. Frankenweenie adapts and expands the story of young Victor, who tragically loses his beloved dog Sparky. Refusing to be without his closest companion, Victor decides to bring him back to life... Albeit with a few tweaks. The stitched-together pooch is fine for a while, but when he escapes, he causes chaos for the local townsfolk. Burton has recruited a voice cast that includes some newcomers along with a batch of his regular acting ensemble: Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Martin Short, Martin Landau, Atticus Shaffer, Charlie Tahan and Robert Capron .
