BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Marvel Characters To Invade Disneyland In Near Future?

Marvel Characters To Invade Disneyland In Near Future? Hero Complex spoke to Bob Iger, president and CEO of Walt Disney Co., on Thursday at the blue-carpet event at the premiere of " Disney's World of Color " at Disney's California Adventure, the Anaheim theme park that has struggled to find a strong identity since opening in 2001. Iger, whose company took over Marvel in a $4 billion deal January, seemed to chew on the question a bit, but in the end, he stayed safely vague in his response. "We're just now considering all of our different options, so it would be premature to say when or where in the parks you would see Marvel characters -- but I think it's safe to say that you're going to see some of those great Marvel characters walking around in the future." Angelina Jolie To Play Maleficent

Angelina Jolie To Play Maleficent I recently posted the news about Disney's maybe moving forward with a Tim Burton Film called Maleficent. Woolverton's "Maleficent" movie would tell the classic fairy tale from the point of view of the self-proclaimed "Mistress of All Evil," offering a new take on a classic tale as she did with Lewis Carrol's "Alice." Rumors are starting to swirl around Hollywood that Angelina Jolie could eventually end up playing the evil fairy. There is no deal in place and this is just a rumor, but according to sources she is interested by the material. I think it would be a nice twist to have her star in the film, but we all know Tim Burton don't be surprised if Helena Bonham Carter gets a shot at it. Please Leave A Comment-

"Maleficent" Film Getting Closer To Reality

"Maleficent" Film Getting Closer To Reality We reported back in January when this news broke about a big screen movie about "Maleficent" evil fairy from the 1959 animated classic "Sleeping Beauty."  This is exciting news to me for one reason I, named our first daughter after Sleeping Beauty herself, so a different take on the film would be exciting. The film might team up Woovlerton and Tim Burton again, Now that screenwriter Linda Woolverton scored a hit with "Alice In Wonderland."  Woolverton's "Maleficent" movie would tell the classic fairy tale from the point of view of the self-proclaimed "Mistress of All Evil," offering a new take on a classic tale as she did with Lewis Carrol's "Alice." In "Beauty," Maleficent is a tall green-skinned woman with horns who can morph into several forms, including a terrifying black and purple dragon. The character, who has appeared in many Disney boo...

Disney's Sleeping Beauty Remake "Maleficent" To Be Directed By Tim Burton

Disney's Sleeping Beauty Remake "Maleficent" To Be Directed By Tim Burton This news is going to make my wife go crazy, first she is a Huge Disney fan and second our oldest daughter is name Aurora after Sleeping Beauty herself. Harry over at AICN reports I have heard that Tim Burton is developing another classic Disney fairy tale in a quasi Live Actiony kinda way. It seems that Tim has a hankering for SLEEPING BEAUTY ... but not really... You see, he's going to tell the story from Maleficent's point of view. In fact, it'll be called MALEFICENT . She was always the most interesting character in that story, but we never knew why she hated those three little fairy wenches... or what indignity she suffered at the hands of Aurora's parents. Yeah, I'm on board... if only it ends with Maleficent with a sword in her heart in dragon form. Cuz that'll rule. Think about how long this plotline was carried out over. She has quite a tale to tell. Let's see w...

Disney Gets Their Hands Dirty With Stan Lee's Pow! Entertainment

Disney Gets Their Hands Dirty With Stan Lee's Pow! Entertainment As Disney was sealing its deal with Marvel Entertainment on Thursday, it was also expanding its ties with POW! Entertainment, the company led by the man who once ran Marvel and co-created many of its signature characters, Stan Lee. Disney is acquiring a 10% stake of POW! for $2.5 million. It is also acquiring "enhanced rights" to the company's creative side as well as exclusive consulting services. It was not clear what the rights and services entailed or the reason for expanding its relationship with POW! Disney signed a first-look arrangement with POW! in 2007. Although no projects have come to fruition on the feature side, several are in development, including lighthearted mystery tale "Nick Ratchett," action-adventure project "Blaze" and one called "Tigress." POW! is also working on several projects for the home entertainment sector. On Thursday, Marvel stockholders appr...
