BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Shia LaBeouf Flying Around Pinkville

Stone & LaBeouf To Reunite For The Movie Director Oliver Stone revealed in his commentary track on the Blu-ray release of Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps that he and that film's young lead, Shia LaBeouf , have discussed reuniting for Pinkville , a Vietnam War investigative drama about the My Lai massacre of March 1968 . Stone said that he and LaBeouf discussed reteaming for Pinkville while they were making the Wall Street sequel. According to the helmer, LaBeouf is interesting in exploring the subject matter because his father was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. Pinkville was set to begin filming in Southeast Asia in December 2007, but was shelved at the 11th hour due to the then-impending Writers Guild strike. Stone had assembled a cast that included Bruce Willis, Channing Tatum, Michael Pena, Woody Harrelson, Xzibit, Michael Pitt, Toby Jones, Jason Behr and Cam Gigandet . Given his age and his dad's role in the war, it seems likely that LaBeouf would want to play H

Social Network Still #1 At The Box Office

Social Network Still #1 At The Box Office The enormous drawing power of Katherine Heigl, Josh Duhamel and a crapping baby couldn’t best the seething cauldron of ambition and computer programming at the core of The Social Network , as David Fincher’s latest edged out a win to top the US box office charts for a second week in a row with $15.5 million across the weekend. The Duhamel/Heigl comedy Life as We Know It still managed to survive some very mixed reviews to take second place, scoring $14.6 million. That meant Disney’s true-life horse drama Secretariat had to make do with third place, though we doubt it’ll be off to the glue factory just yet, with a decent if unspectacular $12.6 million. Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole saw its wings clipped very slightly, slipping down from second to fourth, but it still added $7 million to its running total, which now stands at $39.4 million. The top five was rounded out by the week’s worst reviewed film, as Wes Craven’s My

"The Social Network" Tops The Box Office

"The Social Network" Tops The Box Office A curious box-office creature, Sony's " The Social Network " appears more tortoise than hare. The David Fincher-helmed drama about the creation of Facebook posted an estimated $23 million to top the domestic box office during the weekend. Yet the "Social" launch fell in the lower end of projections, despite showing broad demographic bandwidth. Prerelease interest in the PG-13 pic was keenest among younger males, even though dramas tend to play older. But as things turned out, opening audiences for "Social" were comprised 53% of females, with 55% of patrons aged 25 or older. The older-skewing profile could be good news for the film's longer-term prospects. Such pics often show sturdy legs, and dramas also tend to stretch grosses over a longer play period. "It's playing very broadly, and this is a terrific start," Sony distribution president Rory Bruer said. "This is a mov

Bradley Cooper Sent To The Minors

Bradley Cooper Sent To The Minors Disney has snagged an untitled baseball pitch from " Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps " scribe Allan Loeb with Bradley Cooper attached to star. Andrew Panay is on board to produce with Loeb and his Scarlet Fire Entertainment partner Steven Pearl. The dramedy centers on a baseball player who gets injured and has to go back to the minors where the only place he can find lodging is in a senior citizens' home. There, he meets an old baseball guru who helps lead him back. Panay concocted the idea with his Panay Films development exec Adam Blum. Panay then took it to Pearl and Loeb as the trio had been looking for something to partner on. Loeb, whose career has been on fire since writing "Money Never Sleeps," took to the idea and carved time in his busy schedule to develop and create the story. The project is said to be in the vein of "Scent of a Woman" and "The Rookie," the latter an inspirational sports
