Looks like the cast and crew has shown up again at  Montara State Beach on March 12, 2012 for the Hollywood film ' Of Men and Mavericks ' about Mavericks surfer Jay Moriarity . The new film about the late Santa Cruz surfer Jay Moriarity has a new name, a few new co-stars and a new plan for shooting the famous paddle-out scene. The scene to re-enact the paddle-out that took place shortly after Moriarity's 2001 death will now take place Friday. Originally, the film's producers had hoped to shoot the scene Thursday and Friday, but surf conditions and other schedule changes have revised the original plan. Extras are being asked to show up at 6:30 a.m. Friday in Pleasure Point. OF MEN AND MAVERICKS opens October 26th, 2012. The movie, directed by Curtis Hanson, also lands its leading ladies: Elisabeth Shue and Abigail Spencer . Walden Media’s Gerard Butler surfing drama Of Men and Mavericks has landed a studio -- Fox 2000 -- while Elisabeth Shue and Abigail Spencer are joining the cast. Here's an update from the story we reported on Yesterday. The San Mateo County Harbor Commission approved  Mavericks Invitational's  contest permit application tonight at its regular meeting in South San Francisco. Mavericks Invitational board members Jeff Clark, Cassandra Clark, Ken Collins and Rocky Raynor all spoke out in regards to the permit fee being raised by $10,000 in the last two months. The Commission voted 3-1 to approve the permit with a cost of $30,000 to the contest organizers. Pietro Parravano was the lone dissenter of the group, saying that he felt the $30,000 permit cost was too high. Graphic Novel SOCOM: SEAL Team Seven To Made Into A Film Dean Parisot wants to take a shot at directing a graphic novel, and the novel that he has is eyes on is M Zachary Sherman’s 2006 graphic novel SOCOM: SEAL Team Seven, which sees the titular force investigating a downed submarine in the Persian Gulf.  Things take a turn for the fantastical when the troops discover that the underwater kingdom of Atlantis might have been behind the sunken sub and that the city’s forces don’t take kindly to armed strangers. Chronicles of Narnia:The Voyage of the Dawn Treader,First Images Production on this film as been pretty quit until now. The studio released three new photos of the film on their Facebook page. Michael Apted’s production on the third installment of the C.S. Lewis fantasy franchise follows Lucy and Edmund Pevensie as they return to Narnia with their cousin Eustace where they meet up with Prince Caspian for a trip across the sea aboard the royal ship The Dawn Treader.
