Alamo Drafthouse and Universal Pictures today announced The M. Night Shyamalanathon , the first-ever marathon screening of all three films in the filmmaker’s trilogy: 2000’s Unbreakable , 2016’s Split , and the first American public screening of the third chapter, the explosive comic-book thriller, Glass . The back-to-back-to-back screenings, available at Alamo Drafthouse cinemas in 25 theaters across the country on Saturday, January 12, 2019, will include an exclusive conversation with M. Deadline is reporting Universal Pictures has acquired the action comedy pitch The Revenger , with the Night At The Museum scripting team Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant writing for Zombieland‘s Ruben Fleischer to direct and Liam Neeson to star. Scott Stuber and Dylan Clark will produce through their Universal-based Bluegrass Films shingle, along with Fleischer and his producing partner David Bernad through The District. The logline is being kept under wraps. Beyond Night At The Museum, Lennon and Garant have scripted Hellbaby, Herby Fully Loaded, The Pacifier, and Comedy Central’s Reno 911 and the screen spinoff. Lennon also stars in The Odd Couple. Neeson recently wrapped production on Silence for Paramount and A Monster Calls for Focus Features. Universal pounced on Gary Spinelli’s based-on-truth drug pilot spec script Mena last year, throwing down a million dollars to secure the rights. Ron Howard briefly considered making it, but now Edge Of Tomorrow star and his director, Doug Liman , are in talks to take over instead. The title refers to Mena , Arkansas, the site of much of the action in the extraordinary life of Barry Seal, the focus of the film. Seal was a pilot for TWA in the 1970s who lost his job when he was caught flying plastic explosives from Miami to Mexico for an anti-Castro group. He subsequently went solo as an aviation consultant, and began a lucrative second career smuggling cannabis and cocaine between South and North America, eventually getting entangled with the notorious Colombian Medellin Cartel. Jason Bourne is coming back. Universal Pictures has begun making deals with Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass to reunite for their third film in The Bourne Identity series , sources tell me. This is an absolute stunner — and Universal would not comment nor would the reps — because Greengrass told Deadline as recently as last year that once Bourne regained his memory, there was no place else for the character to go creatively.
