It was announced that THE TWILIGHT SAGA would be returning in short film form , premiering exclusively on Facebook! The films will be produced and directed with the mentorship of a blue chip panel of advisors, which will ultimately select the winning shorts that will premiere exclusively on Facebook next year. The star-studded group of female panelists will include Stephenie Meyer, actress Kristen Stewart , Academy Award winners Kate Winslet and Octavia Spencer, Jennifer Lee , the award-winning writer and co-director of Disney’s global blockbuster Frozen, Emmy Award-winning actress Julie Bowen, and Women in Film President Cathy Schulman. Chris Weitz is in negotiations to rewrite Cinderella , Disney’s live action take on the classic fairy tale that has Mark Romanek (Never Let Me Go) attached to direct. Simon Kinberg is producing. The Cinderella project was first set up at Disney in May 2010 in the wake of the studio’s success with Alice in Wonderland , the live-action adaptation of the Lewis C. Carroll book that starred Johnny Depp. Devil Wear Prada scribe Aline Brosh McKenna was behind the pitch and wrote the initial draft. Romanek came on board in August 2011. No stars currently are attached. The take and the storyline of the re-imagining are being kept under wraps but Weitz has proven himself adept at writing and directing a range of material, from character-based comedies to fantasies to dramas. Don't Get Your Hopes Up Just Yet Animated Twilight series in works? According to reports, after " Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 " and " Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 " there could be an animated Japanese television series in the works. Sounds...er....interesting. At this time, there hasn't been any real news on a series of this kind, however, Kristen Stewart did mention in an interview last year that her character looked Asian in a particular scene and that she looked like an anime character. Of course, that is absolutely no verification that the "Twilight Saga" will be turned into an animated series so until something more official comes in, we'll just have to sit and wonder. I can just imagine the characters now with their enormous eyes that are bigger than their faces. The extremely long eye lashes and short bodies. It makes me laugh just thinking about it. Secondary Characters Holding up Twilight: Breaking Dawn Summit Entertainment is working furiously to close the talent deals required to split Stephenie Meyer's fourth "Twilight" novel into two films. Bill Condon To Direct Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Has Summit entertainment has  found it's director for the upcoming film Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. Bill Condon will be directing the film. Condon credits include Dreamgirls and Gods and Monsters.  Condon was among a list of A-list directors approved by Summit and Twilight author Stephenie Meyer. There is talk that Breaking Dawn will begin shooting will begin in the fall, and I heard the plan is to shoot two films back to back. The Twilight job came open when The Twilight Saga: New Moon director Chris Weitz decided not to reprise, despite directing a film that grossed $707 million worldwide., almost doubling the Catherine Hardwicke-directed original's $385 million worldwide gross. Author's Note: I am over 30, in a relationship, have no children, and am a self-proclaimed Twi-hard who has seen New Moon five times as of writing this article. Writing a review for "New Moon" is no easy task, as there are two points of view to take: the craftsmanship (i.e. Oscar) point of view, and the Twi-Hard point of view.
