The Sequel Map- Are Sequels Better Originals

The Sequel Map: Are The Any Sequels Better Than Their Originals? The scores on the chart come from Rotten Tomatoes with the originals’ scores on the X-axis, and the sequels’ scores on the Y. Films at the center line are sequels with the exact rating as the original; films above are sequels that have surpassed the original; films below, ones that fared worse. The bubble size is the domestic gross. There are exceptions – Godfather II hit harder than the original. The Dark Knight took the start of Batman Begins and made it into either the most thoughtful action movie of all time, or the fasted-paced thoughtful movie of all time (at least until Inception) – but, sadly, far more films fit the rule – and more sequels fail to surpass their original work. The Beauty of Pixar Video

Just Amazing This video compilation was created by video editor Leandro Copperfield who spent 11 days at Pixar Animation Studios re-watching all of their feature films. He then selected more than 500 scenes, and edited them together creating this 7-minute tribute video called The Beauty of Pixar . Editor says: Pixar’s films have always been very important in my life. I was 6 years old when I watched Toy Story the first time, and his films made my childhood more happy. So this video is a personal tribute for, in my opinion, the best animation studio of all time. Let's hope Disney doesn't take this down. I suggest you take a look at it before it's gone. Watch after the Jump.. Here's a list of films that were added: Toy Story (1995) A Bug’s Life (1998) Toy Story 2 (1999) Monsters, Inc. (2001) Finding Nemo (2003) The Incredibles (2004) Cars (2006) Ratatouille (2007) WALL-E (2008) Up (2009) Toy Story 3 (2010) Please Leave A Comment- Source- geekty...

Cars Spin-Off Called "Planes"

Cars Spin-Off Called "Planes" Cars may not have been Pixar’s biggest moneymaker when it was released in theaters, but the franchise has been a monster hit when it comes to merchandise, raking in several billion dollars in a relatively under-the-radar fashion. Next summer’s release of Cars 2 should boost that figure even further, but then again, kids may be in no rush to replace the Lightning McQueen plush toy they already bought back in 2006. How do you refresh the brand? With planes, of course.   Pixar is currently developing Planes as a semi-sequel and spinoff franchise to Cars, one meant to take advantage of the enormously lucrative direct-to-video market. It’s a format that Pixar has flirted with before Toy Story 2 was once meant to go direct to video, and Toy Story 3 was originally developed for DVD in a semi-unauthorized fashion by Disney before Pixar head John Lasseter took over the company — but with Planes, Pixar could leverage the Cars brand without diluti...
