BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

@FunkoDCLegion Review: January 2017

Legion's DC LEGACY box pushes the boundaries of Funko cool. Review by Matt Cummings With a November BATMAN VILLAINS that exposed Funko's long-term problem with all of their lines (that is, a serious amount of fatigue), January 2017's sub box is a startling lesson that perhaps the company has actually listened to fans, taken the heartbeat of the sub box genre, and arrived at a terrific solution. The Promise Before we begin, let's look at the deal again: promising a value of $50, the sub continues the tradition of Funko partnering each time to deliver an exclusive figure and t-shirt without the fluff or filter (their words). Joining at the VIGILANTE MEMBERSHIP, members receive 6 boxes every year, with the promise of an exclusive themed collectible gift on the one-year anniversary of your annual membership pf $150 p sh/h. You can also subscribe at the SIDEKICK LEVEL at $25 with $6.95 shipping. That's literally the same deal as Marvel Collector

THE THING Movie Review By:Rama

THE THING Movie Review By:Rama So let's see what Rama thought about the prequel to THE THING and if it's worth going to watch. Make to follow him on Facebook and Twitter . ‘O, so that’s how it got started. Ok, good to know. Next!’ That pretty much describes how I feel about THE THING prequel. For almost 30 years, some wondered what happened to that Norwegian camp that Kurt Russell visited in the John Carpenter-directed version. Why was that one dude seated frozen with his throat slit?! The events leading up to the chopper chasing the dog. THE THING prequel attempts to answer those questions and although the film is not poorly made, perhaps it’s a story that may not necessarily need to be told because the mystery of it all was part of the old film’s attraction, especially to those of us who weren’t familiar with the material, “who goes there” that became the basis for this franchise. But I tell you this much, in my opinion, the special effects and the creature by maste

Paul Walker To Star In "Hours"

Paul Walker has signed on to star in Hours , a post-Hurricane Katrina thriller that is making the directorial debut of screenwriter Eric Heisserer. Hours makes a change of pace for Heisserer, who is one of the town’s go-to horror guys; he wrote The Thing , which opens October 14, as well as the recent 3D pic, Final Destination. He also co-wrote 2010’s A Nightmare on Elm Street. Hours tells the tale of about a young father ( Walker ) and his fight to keep his newborn daughter alive in an abandoned New Orleans hospital in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Peter Safran (Buried) will produce the film though his Safran Company, which is also financing the project, which is eyeing a March 2012 start. The film will shoot on location in and around New Orleans. For Walker, coming off the massive success of Fast Five , Hours reteams with Safran, for whom he just completed principal photography on indie thriller Vehicle 19. The actor also exec produced the movie. Please Leave A Co

New Clip From The Thing "Gets Loose"

Empire got an exclusive clip from the upcoming film The Thing . Yes, it's somewhat confusing for the 2011 prequel to 1982's The Thing to also be called The Thing , but it's definitely the new one that we're dealing with now, as we present a new clip from the new story of alien goings-on in the Antarctic and the dangers of thoughtlessly thawing out shapeshifting beasties. This story picks up a thread briefly touched on in the John Carpenter Thing, wherein we learn that the alien had been discovered under the Antarctic ice, deep frozen, and brought inside by the staff of a Norwegian Antarctic base. Given the havoc it wreaked in Carpenter's film, it's no spoiler to say that not all of them would, with hindsight, describe the decision to bring the thing indoors as a good one. The Thing (2011) stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Joel Edgerton, Eric Christian Olsen, Adewale Akinuoye-Agbaje, Ulrich Thomsen and Kim Bubbs . Watch the clip after the Jump... The Th

The Thing Prequel Gets A Release Date

The Thing Prequel Gets A Release Date Universal announced that The Thing prequel starring Joel Edgerton and Mary Elizabeth Winstead will hit theaters on April 29th, 2011, that is 2 weeks before Wes Craven’s SCREAM 4. Edgerton previously said that this prequel pays homage to the original version, that there’s a lot of tie-ins as to how the base comes to be the way it is in the 1982 John Carpenter film starring Kurt Russell, which was about scientists in the Antarctic confronted by a shape-shifting alien that assumes the appearance of the people that it kills. Directed by Matthijs van Heijningen, in The Thing Prequel, Mary Elizabeth Winstead plays a Ph.D. candidate who joins a Norwegian research team in Antarctica after it discovers an alien ship in the ice. When a trapped organism is freed and begins a series of attacks, she is forced to team with a blue-collar mercenary helicopter pilot (Edgerton) to stop the rampage. Mary Elizabeth Winstead Joins Cast Of "The Thing"

Mary Elizabeth Winstead Joins Cast Of "The Thing" Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Joel Edgerton will star in "The Thing," Universal's latest take on the shape-shifting alien who terrorizes a group of people in a remote facility. The best-known version might be the 1982 John Carpenter-Kurt Russell cult movie, which was a contemporary remake of 1951's "The Thing From Another World," directed by Howard Hawks. All take inspiration from a 1938 short story, "Who Goes There?" published in pulp mag Astounding. Matthijs Van Heijningen is directing the latest movie, which was written by Ronald D. Moore and Eric Heisserer. Strike Entertainment's Marc Abraham and Eric Newman are producing. The Thing Prequel Character Breakdown

The Thing Prequel Character Breakdown Director Matthijs Van Heijningen is gearing up for a March shoot of Strike Entertainment and Universal Pictures' The Thing in Toronto, Canada, and Bloody Disgusting has got a small new piece of information for ya. Apparently, the studio is using Eric Heisserer's (A Nightmare on Elm Street) version of the screenplay that begins when an alien spaceship is discovered far beneath the ice near a remote Antarctica outpost. We're told that a group of scientists decide to thaw out a creature from inside that kicks off the mayhem at the camp. It is said to be a prequel, check out our exclusive interview with Heisserer for more info. John Carpenter's 1982 film of the same name was a remake of the 1951 The Thing from Another World. The Thing Prequel To Begin Filming In March

The Thing Prequel To Begin Filming In March The prequel to John Carpenter’s classic horror film The Thing is going to start shooting in March! I have been pretty excited about seeing the potential that his film has. I hope it is realized in a way that lives up to the awesome standards of the original, which is still a freakin' great movie! The Thing prequel is being set up at Universal Pictures and is being directed by a commercial director named Matthijis van Heijiningen Jr. This prequel will dive into the story of how this alien being ended up crashing near the Norwegian camp. The original script was written by Ronald D. Moore and then Eric Heisserer stepped in to do some major re-writes. In an interview back in August he gave a little info on what he and the director did to construct the story. It's a really fascinating way to construct a story because were doing it by autopsy, by examining very, very closely everything we know about the Norwegian camp and about the eve
