Since the surprise announcement in August that The Matrix is indeed being rebooted for a fourth movie from returning writer-director Lana Wachowski , it’s been all quiet on the simulated-universe front – but now it seems the continuation of the sci-fi saga has found one of its leading stars. According to Variety , Yahya Abdul-Mateen II –perhaps best known for playing Black Manta in Aquaman – has been cast as one of the central figures of the new Matrix movie, set to join Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss on screen. Abdul-Mateen’s character hasn’t been confirmed, but early rumors around the film suggested that it could focus on a young Morpheus – such is the malleable nature of The Matrix’s continuity.
