Because two versions of a movie is never quite enough, 20th Century Fox has decided to snatch an idea that has been floating around for a while and make a new film based on The Fly . And director J.D. Dillard , who saw success with his street magician action drama Sleight at last year's Sundance Film Festival, is in talks to co-write and direct the latest take on the idea, which was birthed in George Langelaan's short story. It was first adapted in 1958 by Kurt Neumann into a film starring David Hedison and Vincent Price, and followed a scientist looking to perfect instant teleportation who became fused with a fly after the insect enters the machine. David Cronenberg upped the body horror content for the 1986 remake, featuring Jeff Goldblum slowly and messily transforming into the hybrid creature following a similar accident.
