BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Terra Nova Comic-Con Roundup

After more than a year of anticipation, Fox’s Terra Nova made its Comic-Con debut Saturday. Fans were treated to dinosaurs big and small as well as visual effects and technology that made the iPad look archaic. Missing from the display for the drama described as Avatar meets Jurassic Park was the Tyrannosaurus Rex. According to the action-adventure series' producers, the T-Rex won’t be seen, at least during the show's first season. With Steven Spielberg among the executive producers involved, the Jurassic Park director asked executive producers Brannon Braga and Rene Echevarria to avoid using dinosaurs that would appear too familiar. “ He’s asked us never to repeat anything that he’s done,” “[Spielberg has said], ‘Please no T-rex in the first season,’ ” Braga told THR. “He’s just so identifiable from Jurassic Park. It was not a limitation in any way, shape or form. In fact, some of the dinosaurs we’re designing we are creating on our own.” The creative team has be...

Terra Nova Is Coming To Comic-Con

Terra Nova is Coming To Comic-Con 2011 and we have video to prove it. In the video, we get a quick mash up of footage from the series and scenes from the annual event as some kind of creature makes its way through the crowd. The show begins in the year 2149, a time when all life on planet Earth is threatened with extinction (suggested in trailers to be due to dwindling worldwide air quality). In an effort to save the human race, scientists develop a portal allowing travel 85 million years back in time to prehistoric Earth. The Shannon family (father Jim, his wife Elisabeth, and their three children Josh, Maddy and Zoe) join the tenth pilgrimage of settlers to Terra Nova, the first human colony on the other side of the temporal doorway. However, they are unaware that the colony is in the middle of a group of carnivorous dinosaurs. The series is currently scheduled to hit the event Saturday, July 23 with a screening of the pilot episode and a panel with star Stephen Lang and ex...

Steven Spielberg's Terra Nova In Trouble?

In January, Fox executives gave TV critics gathered for their winter meeting an upbeat appraisal of the network's costly and ambitious sci-fi series Terra Nova . With Steven Spielberg lending the project his dinosaur cred, Terra Nova had already attracted lots of interest on the Internet, with fans panting to get a look at a two-hour preview set for May. But even then, key players on the project suspected that the chances of delivering that preview were not good. And though Fox promoted the series during the Super Bowl in February, the network acknowledged weeks later that it would not launch until fall because its visual effects "require more time to be realized." But sources involved with the project say the situation was more complicated than that. With more than a dozen executive producers credited on the pilot and an array of writers coming and going, the series returned from its shoot in Australia in December without enough footage to create the promised two-hou...

What Shows Will Networks Pickup?

What Shows Will Networks Pickup? With the networks wrapping up their internal screenings, pilots are entering the final stretch when executives factor in testing and testing results as well as scheduling needs to make their picks for next fall. Here is the latest buzz on which pilots are still in contention: FOX Besides the Steven Spielberg-produced dinosaur fantasy Terra Nova, which is prepping for a midseason launch, Fox may pick up only one or two more new drama series, especially if it renews one of its bubble drama series Human Target or Lie To Me.
