Netflix’s supernatural thriller, “ Stranger Things ” returns to “ Halloween Horror Nights ” 2019 at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort, debuting all-new mazes inspired by seasons 2 and 3 of the critically-acclaimed series. This year’s chilling mazes pick up where last year’s mazes left off, continuing the suspenseful storyline where a predatory entity terrorizes the small town of Hawkins, Indiana, and delving even further into the parallel universe, referred to as the Upside Down. The mazes on both coasts will also parallel the hit show as it leaps forward to 1985, taking guests on a terrifying excursion through portions of “Stranger Things 3,” which begins streaming July 4 on Netflix. This is one story we feel should be filed under, "Well, OF COURSE", especially since creators the Duffer brothers essentially confirmed that they were working on ideas for the next set of episodes. But the announcement has been now been made officially: Netflix has greenlit a third season of Stranger Things . One of the biggest hits on TV in 2016, the show returned this year for a well-regarded second season and is going from strength to strength with its tales of apocalyptically weird things happening in the small Indiana town of Hawkins. Nothing official has been said about what the new season will entail, but the creators have said that they'll need to jump forward in time again to accommodate their young stars' aging appearances. We'd expect the majority of the cast to return, and while there is no official date for Season 3, the horror themes continue to make the Halloween season feel like the most logical placement. Stranger Things was a pop culture sensation last year, so it was no surprise that it returned for a second season. And, logically, you might think, creators Matt and Ross Duffer have now confirmed that they've already been asked to make a third. The second season focuses on the fallout from the first, especially how young Will Byers ( Noah Schnapp) and his friends are coping a year since discovering that their town is far weirder than they ever imagined, and they're still wondering about the whereabouts of Eleven ( Millie Bobby Brown ). And, of course, there will be yet more Stranger danger, with some new characters and a promised larger scope. But according to the brothers, the current plan is not to go much further than that just-announced third season. “We’re thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out,” Ross tells Vulture. “We just have to keep adjusting the story,” adds Matt. “Though I don’t know if we can justify something bad happening to them once a year.”

When the original series debuted in 1993, I was officially too old to count myself among its target audience. I never saw an episode, never saw the 1995 feature film and truly only am aware of the things that anyone would have picked up via cultural osmosis during its heyday. I knew it concerned five teenagers with superpowers who wore colorful jumpsuits and helmets (with disturbing artificial metallic mouths). I knew they fought monsters of the excessively cheesy, Japan-made Godzilla variety, with men in rubber suits. I knew Voltron was being not-so-subtly ripped off.
