Iron Spider: Homecoming Rama is back So here’s my review of Iron Spider Homecoming.. ehm.. I meant to say #SpiderManHomecoming. It’s an incredibly fun teen movie but it’s not perfect. I think Tom Holland is a great Peter Parker, he’s got the character down spot on. No offense to Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield but Tom Holland’s version is like straight out of the pages. But with this reboot, they basically plaster Iron Man’s previous drama on to Spider-Man in addition to the new tech-based suit, so I’m not sure if that’s going to sit well with all the fans. This report shows a slight release date shift for Paul Feig's Ghostbusters to July 15, 2016; the Magnificent Seven remake dropping on September 23, 2016; Underworld 5 on October 21, 2016; the Chris Pratt/Jennifer Lawrence sci-fi team-up Passengers on December 21, 2016; a revival of Jumanji on Christmas Day, 2016; Resident Evil 6 on January 27, 2017; and the screen debut of Barbie on June 2, 2017. School will be in session for female cops. By Brandon Wolfe Sony Pictures is proving most predominate in providing female alternatives to its most popular male-driven franchises. First there was the all-female Ghostbusters reboot, which will open next summer, and now word has come down that the studio will also craft a girl-centric installment of its popular 21 Jump Street series. Lucia Aniello and Paul W. Downs, the writers of Comedy Central’s Broad City , have been hired to write a script, said to be in the same vein as the two existing Jump Street films. This project will be produced in addition to another original-recipe Jump Street sequel with Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill returning. That film is still a question mark, as the end-credits sequence of 22 Jump Street seemed to take a flamethrower to the very idea of doing yet another sequel. Yet another Spidey project trapped in the web. By Brandon Wolfe Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the sneaky geniuses behind the Jump Street films and The Lego Movie , are developing an animated Spider-Man film for release on July 20, 2018, in an announcement made by Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman at CinemaCon. The film will be independent from the live-action Spider-Man film being developed jointly by Sony and Marvel for Summer 2017. Lord and Miller will write and produce the animated film. Was The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ...amazing at the box office? Read on to find out! Does the timid opening spell a larger problem with Sony's rollout plan? Story by: Matt Cummings  The Amazing Spider-man 2 scored one of the best opening weekends of 2014, but it didn't come close to that of its predecessors.  According to our friends at BoxOfficeMojo, the film opened domestically to an estimated $92 million.  That's below Captain America: The Winter Soldier ($95 million) but higher than overall winner  The LEGO Movie  ($69 million) and 2013's Thor: The Dark World ($85.7 million).   As usual, American movies are dong much better overseas, scoring $277 million in two extra weeks of release.  When adding those numbers, it has a good chance to beat ASM 's $490 million total. Nothing To Do With The Skywalkers We all have heard that Uncle George is going to release the Star Wars films in 3D staring in 2012. IESB has heard a rumor from a flying Mynock. Please remember this is a rumor and nothing has been confirmed. But if what they reported is true then I am sold at Hello. First of all, these new film will have nothing to do with the live action television series currently in development. That show already has over 50 scripts ready to go and plenty of pre-production time and money has been spent on artwork and storyboards. Once that show goes into production, Lucasfilm hopes to be able to produce at least 100 episodes since that is the threshold for syndication in the United States. Fans can expect the new trilogy after the entire saga is released in 3D which is expected to be complete around 2015 or 2016. Uncle George's modus operandi has not changed, the plan is that he will self finance the new trilogy after he rakes in an expected $500 - $75

Star Wars Goes 3D in 2012 Sources indicate that George Lucas is set on re-releasing the entire “ Star Wars ” franchise in new 3D conversions beginning in 2012. Though the 3D versions have been rumored for some time, Lucas was purportedly waiting until there were enough 3D screens available to make the release a sizable enough event. Fox, which released all six of the original “Star Wars” films, would also release the 3D versions. Part One, “ The Phantom Menace ,” would be first out of star-dock in the early months of 2012. After that, each of the films would be released in order at the same time each consecutive year, depending on how well the first re-release does. Each conversion takes at least a year to complete, with Lucas personally overseeing the process to make sure each one is as perfected as possible. Sony Wants A Piece Of The Terminator Franchise Sony's joined Lionsgate in the bidding on the rights to the "Terminator" franchise. The studio had no comment but a source close to the bidding confirmed that Sony submitted a bid Thursday, the final day for submitting offers. Lionsgate stepped up last month as the first bidder for the rights to the "Terminator" franchise with a "stalking horse" or floor bid of $15 million and a 5% cut of future gross receipts. Halcyon Group put the franchise up for sale in September-. The auction for the "Terminator" assets -- which include the rights to future "Terminator" pics, TV series, DVDs and merchandise -- will be held Monday at the offices of FTI Consulting in Los Angeles, followed by a bankruptcy court hearing two days later. Machete Has Found A Home At Fox The auction ended late Friday night and I've been putting together what happened ever since. Certainly you'll recall the big cool quotient around Machete, that famously fake trailer by Robert Rodriguez from Grindhouse. It was considered the single best thing about that Weinstein Co double-feature flop that also included Quentin Tarantino's pic. Rodriguez' fake trailer hinted at a good story (Mexican day laborer is set up, double-crossed, and left for dead -- then starts everyone's worst nightmare) and carried an even better catchphrase ("They just fucked with the wrong Mexican.") Machete's YouTube video alone has 1.4 million views, which wasn't lost on Hollywood. Metal Gear Solid Film Not Going To Happen Collider got an Exclusive Interview with Mike De Luca. A few days ago I spoke to De Luca for almost an hour about a variety of subjects, one of which was Metal Gear Solid. According to De Luca, the Metal Gear Solid movie is no longer happening. He explains why after the jump: The first thing you need to know before going any further is things change all the time in Hollywood. While De Luca told me, “I don’t think it’s going to move forward because I got the sense that there may not be enough of a coordinated will at this point on the side of certain parties to see a movie get made,” that doesn’t mean it’s dead forever. Marvel and Sony's Impact At The Brand Licensing Expo The Brand Licensing Europe event is going on in London’s Olympia, Selling Big name Franchises. So what is the presence of Marvel and Sony on the floor? At the Brand Licensing Exhibition in London today, the Iron Man 2, Avengers and Thor movies were being promoted to potential licensees. Marvel didn’t have much of a presence per se but instead had a massive Stark Industries booth with the five Iron Man suits from San Diego and a bunch of Stark Industries security guards. It’s worth noting that both Iron Man 2 and Thor are being promoted with an “Avengers Assemble” tag. They are so going to milk the tie-ins here. The Thor logo is chunky, and stone-like, very different from the image above seen previously, while the Avengers logo is similar but uses a greyed out Captain America-like shield. Venom Movie Looks Likely To Get Made Soon We can only hope that the Venom Movie that Rhett and Paul wrote will be better then what we saw in Spider-Man #.
