BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam Found It's Director

We've been hearing about the concept of Black Adam , the villain-turned-antihero from the Shazam! comics before the idea of an actual Shazam! solo film came to fruition, mostly because Dwayne Johnson was attached to the role and he likes to talk about his upcoming projects, potential or otherwise, a lot. With Shazam! out in the world and, while not setting any box office records, doing well enough to warrant sequel and spin-off talk, the Black Adam film bubbled back up to the top of the development pot and now it has a director. Jaume Collet-Serra will tackle the job. Discuss this with fellow SJF fans on Facebook . On Twitter, follow us at @SandwichJohnFilms Please Leave A Comment- Source- Empire

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s ( Angel ) case, by shouting out one word— SHAZAM! —this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam ( Levi ), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana ( Strong ). “Shazam!” also stars Jack Dylan Grazer (“IT”) as Billy’s best friend and ultimate superhero enthusiast, Freddy, part of the foster family that includes Mary, played by Grace Fulton (“Annabelle: Creatio

Zachary Levi To Star In Shazam!

THR is reporting Zachary Levi is going to be Earth's mightiest mortal. The actor will star in the DC comic book adaptation Shazam !, which follows a boy named Billy Batson, who can transform into an adult superhero by uttering the magic word "Shazam!" The name is an acronym of the ancient world gods and historical figures Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles and Mercury, from which the big Batson derives his heroic attributes when in adult form. David F. Sandberg is directing Shazam! for New Line. The studio is high on Sandberg and sees him as a homegrown talent after putting out his first feature Lights Out in 2016, and releasing the director's Annabelle: Creation, the latest installment of The Conjuring universe. The $15 million horror sequel has earned a big $303 million worldwide since opening in August. Sandberg is directing Shazam! from a screenplay by Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke. Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam Will Get His Own Solo Film

THR is reporting New Line and DC Entertainment are doubling down on comic book hero Shazam ! New Line, which has been for over a decade developing a movie on the long-time DC character, will develop concurrently a movie centering on Black Adam , with Dwayne Johnson attached to star as Shazam’s arch-nemesis. The move stems from last week’s high level meeting with Johnson and DC Films co-head and comics author Geoff Johns, after which Johnson took to social media to promise “hope, optimism & fun.” But on a deeper level, the meeting led to a reconfiguring of the Shazam! movie. Johnson has been attached to play Black Adam since around 2008. Since that time, the actor has become arguably the biggest male actor on the planet. To execs, it made no sense to have a man of Johnson’s stature be just a villain and a supporting character in an expensive tentpole. Thus a decision was made to spin Black Adam into his own film. Adam’s screen take involves him being an anti-hero. And

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson To Star In Shazam Film

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson To Star In Shazam Film Ryan Reynolds going to play every super hero out there? Not Captain Marvel. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is going to star as Black Adam in the new Shazam film. I would love to see him finally play a villain in a film. Most of his films he has always been the hero, this would be a nice change for him. Like the old days when he was the villain for some point in WWE . Bill Birch, the co-writer of the upcoming “ Shazam ” feature film has revealed that Ryan Reynolds was his first choice to portray Captain Marvel on the big screen. “I always thought Ryan Reynolds would have been interesting but now that he’s Green Lantern that’s not an option,” Birch told Cinefools . Birch also elaborated on whether he believes Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is still onboard to play Captain Marvel’s nemesis, Black Adam. “My rule of thumb is that no actor is committed to do a movie until the first day of shooting is over with,” Birch

Shazam Gets a Writer for his own Movie

Shazam Gets a Writer for his own Movie Actor-turned-writer Bill Birch has been tapped to reboot " Shazam !," Warners' adaptation of a DC Comics series featuring Captain Marvel . Geoff Johns, one of the three DC Comics heavyweights hired by the studio to act as consultants on DC projects, is also helping with the kick-start, co-writing the story with Birch. It's somewhat fitting that Birch takes on "Shazam!" as his very name echoes the name of the comic's hero, Billy Batson, a teenager who becomes Captain Marvel when he utters the magic word "Shazam!" The name is an acronym for six gods and heroes of the ancient world as well as their attributes: the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Aries, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles and the speed of Mercury. The project, which was housed at New Line for several years, has had a tough time taking flight, with writers William Goldman, Bryan Goluboff, Joel Cohen and Ale
