BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Movie Review: #FantasticBeastsandWhereToFindThem

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a dull, convoluted mess that looks like a magician's apprentice made it. WARNING: This review contains massive spoilers. Review by Matt Cummings Among the best of Hollywood's film franchises, Harry Potter might also be known as one of the least appreciated. What began as a series of stories told by Author JK Rowling to her children turned into an 8-movie bonanza that captured the imaginations of an entire generation of moviegoers. It literally was the magic of a Potter wand capturing lightning in a bottle. Which is why it's so difficult to announce that its prequel Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is such an utter disappointment: it's clunky, poorly-cast, and captures exactly zero of the Harry Potter magic that our nation now sorely needs. Set 70 years before Harry Potter first picked up a wand, a British wizard named Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) arrives in 1926 New York ready to deposit a magica...

New Poster For Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them

Looking for all the world like he's either annoyed that he missed the 7:16 to Brooklyn or he's about to indulge in his favorite hobby of train surfing, here's Eddie Redmayne 's Newt Scamander in the latest poster for Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them . Expanding on Harry Potter's world by digging into a spin-off tome J.K. Rowling created about various magical creatures and the globe-trotting magizoologist who studies them, Fantastic Beasts reunites several of the key Potter film behind the scenes players including director David Yates and Rowling herself, who wrote the script this time. Newt's travels are recorded 70 years before Harry tackles Voldemort, in 1926, and major on his time in New York, where the city is soon ransacked by some of the beasties he carries with him in his bottomless bag. And that isn't helped by the fact that America's Muggles, the No-Maj, aren't exactly trusting when it comes to witches and wizards, with the fire...

First Look: Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them

With David Yates now deep into filming the first entry in a planned trilogy based on the expanded world of the Harry Potter stories through the adventures of Newt Scamander, we’re thrilled to bring you an exclusive first look at the logo for Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. It’s certainly an intriguing image – that “from J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World” prefix hints at bigger things afoot in the future and there’s some nifty touches, such as the wand underlining that initial element and the dragon forming the “s” in "Beasts". Fantastic Beasts was adapted by Rowling herself from her 2001 book. Eddie Redmayne is starring as Scamander, who plies his trade as a magizoologist around the world, and visits New York in this first adventure. The story takes place roughly 70 years before Harry and the rest have their tangle with the dark forces of Voldemort. He’s joined in the cast by the eclectic likes of Colin Farrell, Ron Perlman, Jon Voight, Katherine Waterston, Samant...
