BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Bad Boys 3 Has Found It's Screenwriter

The mantra behind Sony Pictures’ recent restructure that brings in Michael De Luca as production co-president was to make higher quality tent poles. That means spending money on hot writers. I’m told the studio is in early talks with David Guggenheim to script Bad Boys 3 , which the studio hopes will bring back Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as fast-talking undercover cops who solve crimes with spectacular action, gunplay, and harsh language. Guggenheim scripted Safe House , the Denzel Washington-Ryan Reynolds action thriller. Bad Boys II was released a decade ago, and the sequel grossed $273 million on a $160 million budget. Michael Bay directed the first two, but he doesn’t seem to be involved, at least at this point. Jerry Bruckheimer is producing the pic. Sony is trying to do this with the original cast, which makes it different from the other big franchise reboots in the works, Men In Black and Ghostbusters. Those are being rebooted. With Ghostbusters, that has a lot to do w...

Top 15 Films Of 2012. That's Right 15

In a year that saw some of the worst films ever, 2012 also brought us some of the most memorable. But how do you reduce a list from 65 to just 10 - you add five more ! Yes, SJF brought you an amazing 65 reviews in 2012 - how do I still have eyes after seeing that many? In short, there were so many good films that a top 10 just felt too small. I know that some of you might not agree with what you're about to see, but that's the great thing about 'best-of' lists: they should generate discussion and thoughtful consideration, while ultimately encouraging you to either catch a hidden gem for the first time, or to relive the moment when one became a favorite. We've been building this list all year, with some films receiving a last-minute bump or demotion based on their release date or a recent revisiting. To be clear, we include films that probably won't even be nominated for an Oscar, either because of their subject matter or their poor performance at thea...

Joel Kinnaman Is Robocop

Updated:  Deadline reports that Kinnaman is now confirmed for the role. Even as we write this, MGM is paying a group of criminals to blast him to pieces, whereupon their best scientists will merge his head with a robot body (they're going the lose the arm) to become the future of law enforcement... While he burst on to the international scene playing a man caught up in crime in Daniel Espinosa’s Snabba Cash, Joel Kinnaman has been spending a lot of his time acting as a police detective in the US telly remake of The Killing. Now all that law enforcement experience might come in handy, because MGM has offered him the lead in the Robocop reboot. Elite Squad director Jose Padilha is aboard to call the shots and he’s been flipping through the usual go-to list looking for the right star to fill Alex Murphy’s metal helmet. There were brief, unsubstantiated rumours floating around about Russell Crowe, and Michael Fassbender was said to be in the running. But now Kinnaman, who l...

The long Presidents Day weekend saw a trio of strong holdovers -- Safe House, The Vow and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island --top the domestic box office chart in a surprise upset over new entries. SAFE HOUSE Movie Review- THE VOW Movie Review- THIS MEANS WAR- Universal's Safe House, starring Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds, was in a tight race with The Vow for much of the four-day weekend, but pulled ahead to grab $28.4 million. Denzel Washington To Star In Safe House

Denzel Washington To Find A "Safe House" Denzel Washington is in negotiations to star in the Universal action thriller “ Safe House ,” written by David Guggenheim. Guggenheim’s original spy thriller was snatched up by Universal in a heated bidding environment back in February, and Washington’s name has recently been circulating as a go-to lead for the role of a dangerous prisoner being escorted through mencaing territory by a young CIA agent. “Snabba Cash” director Daniel Espinosa is helming. Scott Stuber is producing. The storyline follows the only surviving agent of an attack on a CIA safe house as he tries to get a lethal prisoner to a second safe house before being taken out by violent forces that want them both dead. "Safe House" would put Washington on familiar action ground, if on the bad-guy side of the dynamic that won him an Oscar for "Training Day" in 2001. Please Leave A Comment- Source- riskybusiness
