Samuel L. Jackson is set to reprise the role of Nick Fury in a new Marvel series currently in development at Disney Plus, Variety has learned exclusively from sources.  The exact plot details of the show are being kept under wraps, but multiple sources say Jackson is attached to star with Kyle Bradstreet attached to write and executive produce. Like all the other Marvel shows at Disney Plus, Marvel Studios will produce. Jackson famously portrayed Fury, the monocular head of the clandestine government agency S.H.I.E.L.D, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe going back to the post-credits scene in the first “Iron Man” film in 2008. He has appeared in multiple films within the MCU since, most recently portraying Fury in “Spider-Man: Far from Home,” “Avengers: Endgame,” and “Captain Marvel.” He also played the character in two episodes of the ABC series “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” SPOILER ALERT:  The last time fans saw Fury was in the post-credits scene of “Far From Home,” where he was onboard

Sony Pictures will be the first major studio to host a high-end dual big screen drive-in experience at its studio lot in Culver City. Located in the studio’s Thalberg parking lot, the drive-in will begin its run Friday, August 14 and will showcase several Sony Pictures library titles. In lieu of a traditional premiere, a screening of upcoming romantic comedy -- Tristar Pictures/Stage 6 Films’ The Broken Hearts Gallery -- will also be hosted in this outdoor space. Porsche Cars North America will serve as the official automotive sponsor for the drive-in experience where guests will be able to view the latest product offering from the automaker, including its first all-electric sports car, the Taycan, as well as the new Cayenne Coupe. Deadline is reporting Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige won’t produce any further Spider-Man films because of an inability by Disney and Sony Pictures to reach new terms that would have given the former a co-financing stake going forward. A dispute that has taken place over the past few months at the top of Disney and Sony has essentially nixed Feige, and the future involvement of Marvel from the Spider-Man universe, sources said. This comes at a moment when the last two films Kevin Feige produced broke all-time records — Disney’s Avengers: Endgame became the highest grossing film of all time, and Spider-Man: Far From Home this week surpassed the James Bond film Skyfall to become the all time highest grossing film for Sony Pictures. Sources said there are two more Spider-Man films in the works that are meant to have director Jon Watts and Tom Holland front and center. Starting on Friday, June 28, participating theaters nationwide will hold a Bring Back event for fans to see Marvel Studios’ AVENGERS: ENDGAME one more time on the big screen before it finishes its theatrical run.
