BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

#StarWarsSmugglersBounty Review: November 2016

November's Star Wars/Funko Smuggler's Bounty sub box is ready for a ROGUE ONE rebellion! Review by Matt Cummings The first year of the Star Wars/Funko alliance (no pun intended) is about to be completed, but not without its many exciting reveals mixed with some heavy disappointments. Overall, this sub box has fared very well against others like Marvel Collector Corps and DC's Legion of Collectors. September's DEATH STAR gave us one of the best boxes of the year, which was a welcomed 180-degree from July's hugely disappointing JABBA'S PALACE. And with the imminent arrival of ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY , it was time for some more cross-promotion. Luckily, I can report another success for Funko, sporting a fantastic shirt, two Pops, and a visit from a familiar (and formidable) enemy. Before diving in, let's review the details: The cost for a Month to Month is $25 (plus S/H), or $150 (plus S/H) for a one-year subscription. You get one box ...

Reshoots Ordered For Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Star Wars stand-alone movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will undergo several weeks’ worth of additional shooting, sources have confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. Much of the cast and director Gareth Edwards will regroup in mid-June for another round of shooting. The move is happening after execs screened the film and felt it was tonally off with what a “classic” Star Wars movie should feel like. The pic has not yet been tested before audiences, but one source describes the cut as having the feel of a war movie. The goal of the reshoots will be to lighten the mood, bring some levity into the story and restore a sense of fun to the adventure. Rogue One focuses on the fabled mission hinted at in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, that of a group of rebels stealing the plans to the Death Star. The plans later end up in the hands of Princess Leia, who transfers them to R2-D2. “This is the closest thing to a prequel ever,” a source tells THR. “This takes place just before...

Mads Mikkelsen Reveals His Character In Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

He'd previously gone as far as to say that he isn't playing a villain. Now Mads Mikkelsen has evaded the spoiler police once again and revealed a little bit more about his role in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story . If you consider such things to be spoilers, read no further, young Padawan. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Trailer- So Felicity Jones is playing a rebellious soldier called Jyn Erso, and it turns out that Mikkelsen's character has what you might call a blood tie to Jones'. "I read the script and it was very beautiful," Mikkelsen told Sky News, "and Felicity is playing this lovely, strong woman and I play her father." We still don't know his character's name, but we're going to hazard that "Erso" is in there somewhere. Mr Alan Erso, perhaps. Head of the PTA at Yavin High. Extrapolating properly, we might surmise that Erso Sr. and his daughter are somewhat estranged, since we know from the trailer that Jyn brough...

Han Solo Casting Narrowing Down

Variety is reporting Disney and Lucasfilm are inching closer to finding their young Han Solo for the upcoming untitled “ Star Wars ” spinoff. After seeing thousands of actors, execs have cut the list down to about a dozen actors with Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Dave Franco, Jack Reynor, Scott Eastwood, Logan Lerman , “Brooklyn” star Emory Cohen and “Everybody Wants Some” actor Blake Jenner among the names making the cut. NDAs and test deals are still being worked out, but producer Kathleen Kennedy and directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller will begin testing the new group with a decision expected in the next couple of weeks. The film does not shoot until next January, but sources close to the situation say the reason for such an early decision has more to do with another “Star Wars” film currently shooting, rather than the untitled “Han Solo” pic. While insiders were unable to confirm, the new Solo could have a small cameo in “Rogue One: A Star Wars” before appearing in his own...

TV Review: Hannibal “The Wrath of the Lamb” (Series Finale)

Cult series steps away from the table. Review by Brandon Wolfe Hannibal ’s third, and ultimately final, season carried with it the problem of reverence. In the first two seasons, the series carved out its own territory apart from Thomas Harris’ novels, staking its claim to the heretofore unexplored era prior to Red Dragon , when Will Graham worked as an FBI profiler and Hannibal Lecter was a psychiatrist and advisor. In these seasons, the show operated as a wackadoo procedural, a CSI where killers operate as avant-garde artists who will sew you into a tapestry with a hundred other bodies, fashion your corpse into a biological tree or rip you apart while wearing animal adornments and operating as a self-appointed werewolf. It was completely, gloriously insane, and it felt fresh and new. But with the third season, series creator Bryan Fuller made the understandable decision to finally tackle Harris’ source material, taking on adaptations of both the Hannibal and Red Dragon novels, ...
