BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

More Bad News For The Gambit Film. Rupert Wyatt Exists

THR is reporting Director Rupert Wyatt has fallen off Gambit , the Channing Tatum X-Men spinoff being made by Fox. Changing script caused the film's budget to be larger than expected, extending the shoot, and prompting the push. Another source said that the shooting schedule around Mardi Gras caused the reshuffling. Either way, it became a conflict for Wyatt, who had to exit. "I was very much looking forward to working with my friend Channing and the team at Fox, but regrettably a push in the start date now conflicts with another project," said Wyatt in a statement. "I thank them for the opportunity, and I know that Gambit will make a terrific film." The movie project is an important one for the studio, which is hoping that it launches onto the screen as an important character as Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, one of the lynchpins of the X-Men universe. Josh Zetumer penned the script for the film, based on a treatment by Gambit co-creator Chris Claremo

According to THR Lea Seydoux has received an offer to star in Gambit , 20th Century Fox’s X-Men spinoff movie, opposite Channing Tatum . Tatum, Reid Carolin, Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg are producing. Seydoux just has an offer at this point, so there's always the possibility that it won't make. Gambit, centering on the card-throwing superhero who can manipulate kinetic energy, is slated for release Oct. 7, 2016. X-Men Sequel To Follow DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Story Line

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS Sequel will start production early next year and now AICN has heard that there will be a heavy dose of Magneto this time around and that the studio recently registered the title DAYS OF FUTURE PAST with the MPAA Title Registration Bureau. No confirmation yet if that’s going to be the official title of this sequel, but if you’re a die hard X-Men fan, you’d recognize that it’s the title for a two-issue story arc of the X-Men comics published by Marvel in 1981 and the story dealt with alternative timelines.   DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Back Story: Days of Future Past” is a popular storyline in the Marvel Comics comic book The Uncanny X-Men issues #141 and #142, published in 1981. It deals with a dystopian alternative future in which mutants are incarcerated in internment camps. An older Kitty Pryde transfers her mind into the younger, present-day Kitty Pryde, who brings the X-Men to prevent a fatal moment in history which triggers anti-mutant hysteria. The storyline

Charlize Theron Is Agent 13

Thanks to Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes proving to be one of the most enjoyable – and successful – blockbusters of last year, director Rupert Wyatt has found himself in demand for several high profile jobs. But he hasn’t locked in a definite possibility until now, as he’s attached to direct Charlize Theron in a sci-fi action pic called Agent 13 . Newcomer T.S. Nolan has written the script which… Well, we can’t actually tell you that part just yet, because it’s being kept a strict secret. But we do know there will be an agent in it. And that agent will be 13. Ahem. And as of right now, there’s no studio on board to make the thing. But with the Rise director collaborating with an Oscar-winning actress, the big guns are already circling to lock this one down. Theron was last seen in Jason Reitman’s Young Adult. She’ll next crop up as the youth-obsessed Queen Ravenna in Snow White And The Huntsman (due June 1) and also has a role in another film arriving one the same day. Someth

X-Men: First Class Sequel Has It's Director

That is changing, and the quality of the recent films released by the studio has improved. Fox has just closed a deal with Matthew Vaughn to come back and direct the sequel to X-Men: First Class , with Simon Kinberg writing the script and Bryan Singer back as producer. The studio is so delighted with the job that Josh Trank did on the upcoming under-$20 million thriller Chronicle that he is being eyed for a big assignment, possibly the reboot of Fantastic Four . The studio has made a priority of the sequel to last summer’s hit Rise of the Planet of the Apes, with Rupert Wyatt back behind the camera. Fox, after ending the year with the Cameron Crowe directed We Bought a Zoo , has the upcoming Ridley Scott-directed Prometheus ; and the studio got Timur Bekmambetov to direct Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter . That film was produced by Tim Burton, who will direct for the studio Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children, with a script being written by X-Men: First Class scribe Jane G

Tomb Raider Film To Be Complete Reboot

Tomb Raider producer Graham King has revealed that he took inspiration from Rise of the Planet of the Apes for the Lara Croft franchise reboot. King told Digital Spy that he has received a script from Iron Man screenwriters Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby. "We're going through [the script] creatively, bringing in directors to talk to and then I get that horrible job of sitting with 25-30 young girls that want to play Lara Croft," he said. Asked about his approach to the new Lara Croft movie, King said: "For me it's re-inventing the wheel a bit, it's a reboot. We're going back before she was Lara Croft, so it's a much more emotional character piece. She's in search of her parents. "One of my favorite movies of this year was Rise of the Planet of the Apes and the way they rebooted that franchise. I thought it was fantastic and took a lot away from that for Tomb Raider." Andy Serkis Reprise Caesar In Planet Of The Apes Sequel

When Rise of the Planet of the Apes‘s $453 million worldwide gross was listed as a bright spot in the quarterly earnings of beleaguered NewsCorp, you know a sequel is a big 20th Century Fox priority. So who did the studio lock in first? No, it wasn’t James Franco or Freida Pinto . The studio just closed what I’m told is a healthy seven-figure deal for Andy Serkis to reprise his role as lead ape Caesar. Serkis had only signed on for one movie, so his reps had leverage in ensuring that he come back to continue leading the ape takeover in multiple future installments of the series. Director Rupert Wyatt’s original deal came with a sequel option, so he’s locked. So are screenwriters Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, who are producing with Chernin Entertainment’s Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark. The studio is still in the idea stage and the sequel hasn’t been dated for release. As for Franco and Pinto, those decisions will likely be made when the direction of the film crystallizes. The studio

The Help Lands At The Top Of The Box Office

DreamWorks and Participant Media’s The Help continued to overperform in its second weekend, beating a new round of competitors in grossing $20.5 million and coming in No. 1 at the domestic box office. Distributed by Disney, The Help has racked up $71.3 million in its first 10 days of release. The pic fell less than 22% from its opening weekend, when it came in No. 2. To rise to No. 1 is an unusual feat, and reflects the film's great buzz. The Help movie review . Rise of the Planet of the Apes , from 20th Century Fox, also remained a worthy contender in its third weekend, falling only 41% to an estimated $16.3 million for a domestic cume of $133.8 million and coming in No. 2. The Help and Rise of the Apes left the weekend’s four new films struggling. Robert Rodriguez’s Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D , from the Weinstein Co./Dimension, did the best of the bunch, coming in No. 3 and grossing an estimated $12 million. Fright Night movie review . "We were

Rise Of The Planet of the Apes Movie Review By: Rama

Rise Of The Planet of the Apes Movie Review By: Rama Ramascreen is back with another movie review. Next up is Rise Of The Planet of the Apes . Make sure to follow him on Twitter and Like their Facebook page . I’m not gonna lie to you, I think RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is a pretty decent reboot. I wouldn't call it a powerful film but the effort to gradually show how the apes come to respect the charismatic Caesar is the film’s biggest point. That said, how is it possible that the recent Oscar nominee James Franco suddenly turns into a 2nd rate actor whose performance is bland and unbearable?! I just don’t get it! Franco in this film makes Mark Wahlberg’s role as a science teacher in The Happening look convincing. I think WETA does a good job with the looks for the apes and the man who loves wearing mo-cap suit, Andy Serkis has done it again, if there’s an Oscar category for mo-cap, that man should win it every single time… An origin story in the true sense of the w

When test subject Caesar suddenly begins to mutate rapidly, the scientist takes him home to remove him from the cruel lab doctors. The film is a prequel/reboot of the Planet of the Apes franchise. The Planet Of The Apes Featurette

The Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes has a trailer , and now, a featurette on the story behind the film. Director Rupert Wyatt takes the reins from the off, giving us tidbits on just what to expect from the latest in the Apes franchise. James Franco — who plays morially dubious scientist Will Rodman — also says hello. Alas, Andy Serkis doesn't make his presence felt, though his character, Caesar, is discussed. You know, with him being the clever ape that kicks the whole revolution off and all. Watch the clip after the Jump...
