Steven Spielberg To Direct Robopocalypse Based On A Comic Book Steven Spielberg to direct Robopocalypse, based on Daniel H. Wilson's comic, which deals with the human race's struggle against a robot uprising. Drew Goddard, who wrote the film Cloverfield and is a former Buffy the Vampire Slayer writer is rumored to be drafting a new screenplay for Spielberg. Wilson hasn't finished the book yet, but word is Goddard has gotten underway and that it's a serious candidate. "Real Steel" To Star Hugh Jackman Story centers on a fighter who has to reinvent himself when human boxers are replaced by robots. Jackman will play a struggling Robot Boxing promoter who finds a discarded robot that always seems to win. He also discovers he has a 11-year-old son, and they bond as the robot brawls its way toward the top. Although grounded in the father-son relationship, Levy describes the film as a "rousing sports movie" with Jackman's character "a former boxer who can no longer do the only job he's good at, and one particular robot that may be his return to grace." The DreamWorks principals have greenlit the "Rocky"-esque robot tale "Real Steel," to star Hugh Jackman, as their first pic since raising $650 million from both J.P. Brad Pitt To Star In "Dark Void" Brad Pitt's Plan B and Indian media conglom Reliance Big Pictures have inked a deal with videogame company Capcom to develop a feature film based on the " Dark Void " computer game as a potential franchise and starring vehicle for the actor. Capcom will release "Dark Void," about a pilot who crash lands in the Bermuda Triangle following a routine mission and wakes up to find himself in an alternate world resembling a primitive earth where aliens with superior technology are planning to take over civilization, in North America and Europe in January next year.
