We've seen Alias veteran Jennifer Garner returning to action recently for Peppermint , and playing a focused, judgmental woman in TV's Camping . She's headed back towards more gentle comedy for a new film called Fantasy Camp . I Feel Pretty duo Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein are writing and directing the movie, which will follow Julie (Garner) as she attends a reunion at the theater camp of her youth, Camp Footlights, where she will get the chance to challenge her fears, live out her dreams, and finally take the stage. It sounds like the sort of blend of sweetness and laughs that Garner has done well in the past, and she's on to produce as well as star. The actress is still developing parenting pic Yes Day and recently signed to team back up with Alias' JJ Abrams for new TV series My Glory Was I Had Such Friends. Deadline is reporting that Jennifer Garner is in talks to star in Peppermint, the Chad St. John-scripted action film for Lakeshore that will be directed by Pierre Morel. At the same time, the film is in the process of moving: STXfilms is in talks to distribute the film worldwide. It looked like Lionsgate had secured worldwide rights during Cannes, but that arrangement has fallen apart. The high-action revenge thriller premise has been likened to John Wick, with a female protagonist. When her husband and daughter are gunned down in a drive-by, the heroine wakes up from a coma and spends years learning to become a lethal killing machine. On the 10th anniversary of her family’s death, she targets everyone she holds responsible, the gang that committed the act, the lawyers that got them off, and the corrupt cops that enabled the murderous incidents.
