Though Suicide Squad didn't exactly have fans' hearts singing when it arrived last year, the line-up of wrong 'uns forced to go on a mission ka-chinged at the worldwide box office to the tune of $745.6 million, so Warners and DC have been busy laying plans for a sequel. According to Deadline, The Shallows and Non-Stop director Jaume Collet-Serra is the studio's choice to make the new movie. There's no mention of deals being done yet, so this could well still be at the talks stage (and we'll have to see whether he decides to go with true-life tale Waco instead), but after taking meetings with a number of filmmakers (including surprise addition Mel Gibson), the studio is looking to score a director who has a proven hand with action (even if some of his films haven't exactly been beloved themselves).
