So many of its particulars weren’t that remarkable on paper. The partners being separated by race, age and temperament, yet forging a bond all the same, all of this was old-hat even in 1987. The alchemy of Lethal Weapon ’s success came down to the idiosyncrasies of its players. Shane Black’s witty, gritty script, Richard Donner’s expert craftsmanship and, above all, the incomparable chemistry between stars Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. 3 DAYS TO KILL Review By: MattInRC The Kevin Coster action flick 3 Days to Kill is entertaining but as sloppy as they get. Director McG is one of my favorites. In 2002, he introduced us to the most important directorial innovation of the past decade: the Ram, in which a scene is suddenly slowed down for 5-10 seconds, then sped up for the same time, before returning to normal speed. Zack Snyder used this to perfection in 300 , and McG utilized it every week on his short-lived but sexy/violent Fox show. Today, his technique is seen everywhere, begging the question why he never uses it in the new movie 3 Days to Kill , a sloppy and unfulfilling ride that feels like a reject from Dr. Frankenstein instead from a renowned director. The long-in-the-works movie version of 1980s TV series The Fall Guy is coming together once again, this time as a vehicle for Dwayne Johnson . Johnson is in negotiations to star in a big-screen remake that McG is in talks to direct. Ashok Amritraj's Amritraj is producing alongside Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald, who have held the rights to the property for years. The script is being written by Andrew Barrer and Gabe Ferrari; details of the story are being kept under wraps.
